Hopefully enough people can watch live to get this going. Lots of good matches on today in the EPL, oh and just a little COPA CLASICO on the side. All matches other than the Gooners kickoff at 3pm EST.

A late injury and an illness means that West Ham will be starting Andy Carroll at striker and give Youth RB Ben Johnson his Premier League debut at LB

Looked like Spurs were closing in on scoring before the half. It’s unclear how much energy Chelsea has after 120 minutes on Sunday.

wow great goal by Suarez.

The time-wasting we're going to be treated to in the last 40+ minutes of this match is going to make even the Spanish queasy.

Great individual play by Pedro; Spurs need something out of this game or the derby this weekend is going to be HUGE.

City go on top after an Aguero dive draws a penalty
The streamja link I'm finding isn't loading the full play, but wasn't it Bernardo? The few seconds I've seen make it look like a coming together rather than a dive but harsh on West Ham regardless

Eriksen has been taking an eternity to make a decision and it’s really hurting them today.

It was Bernardo not Aguero. Not a pen for me it’s such a simple coming together. Ref had just waved off another penalty claim and I think it probably contributed

Yeah it was Silva, it was a case of throwing on the breaks then hurling himself to the floor at a whisper of contact. I consider that a dive.

Barca has gotten dominated in terms of chances and linking play in the final third, but has been nails when it counted - some amazing deflections and a full-extension save by Ter Stegen, and the two legit chances they've had in the game they've converted. And now Suarez draws a legit penalty (he made a meal of it but it was a foul either way).

Saw the full play - yeah the immediate appeal to the ref seals it. Send him to the pit alongside Salah.

Huge save Alisson

It doesn’t look like it’s going to be Spurs’ day. Kane/Son/Eriksen have been disappointing and this has probably been Chelsea’s best defensive game of the season.

2 for Virgil now

I don't think that goal differential is surmountable but worth giving it a try, down to -6 now relative to City

Becoming clearer that Spurs should have sold Trippier at the height of his value last summer.

Have Spurs dropped from title race and should they be part of the top four race? They still have to play Liverpool and City.
I think today was the end of their title hopes.

Edit: Misread your post.

Derby on Sunday and they'll only be 1 point ahead of Arsenal if the Gunners win. Gunners could make up 9 if a 10 point deficit over 8 days.

Wonderful day for Barca brutal day for Spurs. IMO, MATS (Makes All The Saves) is the best keeper in the world. He has kept Barca in numerous tight matches. You can count on one hand the amount of gaffes he's had this season and he is probably the most skilled keeper too. Distribution is impeccable, vocal leader. Has redefined the position with a hockey-like approach to short range situations. I've read that he's also jumped in with both feet learning Spanish. He's everything and likely will be for a long time.

I didn't get to watch the match closely, but as others have said, yesterday's Clasico is more reflective of Madrid than Barca. IOW, Real are dreadful this year and reliant on young unproven talent and some aging core players. EV still doesn't seem to have the tactics to hang in big matches, but this squad is among the most talented and well-rounded Barca have had in years. Hopefully EV has the presence of mind to limit minutes for Messi, Suarez, Pique, Busi, and Rak on Saturday. Malcom, Arthur, Roberto, Prince, and Umtiti all need minutes and slot in nicely.

Spurs have held on admirably these past two months but injuries have finally caught up with them. As soon as I saw that Super Jan wasn't playing, I was nervous. Lloris is probably as good of a keeper as Spurs can afford, but he is not world class. That first goal was terrible and he contributed to the second one as well. Eriksen has played well these past two months, but he is at his best spraying the ball around from deep alongside Sissoko and/or Winks. This team misses Dele dearly. Lamela just isn't that good and Moura hasn't impressed much either. Hopefully Spurs can focus on UCL and make a run while keeping a top 4 spot--on their day at full strength, they can match up with almost anyone, but they do not have the squad to compete for a double and may not even have the class to win a major trophy. The same as it has been for years, but recent expectations have been raised.

And both of those matches are away.

While Spurs are definitely more in the top four race than the title race at this point, I still see them as a substantial favorite. Mainly, I'm just not confident that either Arsenal or Chelsea have a strong finish in them. The combination of injuries and fixture congestion in a likely deep Europa League run is a pretty tough one for Arsenal. We started Carl Jenkinson yesterday for the first time in 2.5 years. Emery is playing a formation that requires three CBs and wingbacks and we've got no depth at CB and our only good wingback tore his ACL. Chelsea has looked good in their last two matches and obviously has talent but the Sarri situation is such a bizarre mess (plus a UEFA ban, likely Hazard departure, etc) that its hard to see the club really coming together and playing consistently strong down the stretch. I think Spurs limp over the finish line but ahead of other clubs that are limping even more.
