Trollin’ Volin stirring up shit again. He asked Brady about the connection between Guerrero and Edelman’s suspension. Brady says it’s ridiculous and walked off.
He literally said, "I'm out." It was pretty obnoxious, these gotcha questions are so unseemly.

Trollin' Volin is the worst, Burr.

Big contrast to Shank, who asked BB a relevant, direct question that fans want an answer to.

This is low-rent by Volin. Even viewed through the lens most charitable to Volin, meaning let's assume he wasn't just trolling, how would Tom even have information responsive to the question, and, if he did, it wouldn't be Tom's place to talk about it while speaking to the media at a training camp practice.

Been Trollin' is the worst. Now he's provided fodder for hours of inane talk radio banter, too. The Boston sports media, once the nation's finest, has sunk to depths once unimaginable.

RIP Clark Booth.

You don't want to know the full details on how Edelman got flagged? Because I don't think we have gotten it.
Do you think Brady has this answer? And if he knew his dude was supplying Edelman stuff he'd admit it right there?

Yes and of course not. That's why the Boston media loves this, we're not going to get an real answer. It's probably better now to get this out of their system although I'm sure it will flare up again when Edelman returns.

It’s not a big contrast, they were both fishing for click bait. They both knew they wouldn’t get an answer and Shank’s question was relevant six months ago. It’s done, did he think he’d be the first to get BB to open up? He’s not even usually at these things, it was his own agenda driven attention grab.

At this point, I don't care about anything the NFL has to say about player discipline that isn't in a depostition, affadavit, etc.

It's like listening to a dog barking to me at this point. They have something to say; that is all I am willing to believe from the communication.

You think Brady knows what Edelman did?

Yeah. I think he would want to know if there is a connection between AG and the suspension. Maybe avoid whatever substance they think triggered the test.
The implied negative possibility--that Edelman and AG have been conspiring behind Brady's back--isn't really worth considering.

I mean, I guess it is. But it would be deeply dumb.

Yeah. Not a fan of Volin but his question was at least somewhat timely. Probably one of the first times he's had a chance to ask Brady about it.

They’re at the point where not getting an answer is a better click bait headline than an actual answer. So they keep asking knowing full well there is no secret reveal coming. It’s professional trolling in a dying business. Print media anyway.

Exactly. If they haven't figured out what questions are going to get an sewer at this point, their goal is "he wouldn't answer so jerk!". It's pretty well established at this point that if you ask an honest question BB or TB will give you an honest answer. If you waste their time with bullshit you're going to get dismissed. Continuing to ask them is either ignorance or trolling.

Volin essentially admitted in the Globe today that his competition is "sports" talk radio.
He said "fans" want answers and used callers as an example of "fans."

Pretty much like saying that "people" don't like toilets and would prefer to shit in boxes on the floor. How does he know? He watched his cat.

Volin is a hack and a troll, and the question was fair game, both of these things can be true.

Once Brady started using his position as QB of the Patriots to promote his business and business partner, questions about him are certainly fair, IMO. Not to mention all the nonsense surrounding AG last season

I think it's a silly question.

Well Ben, thanks for the great question, been wanting to discuss this openly. Alex just created this new agent for TB12 and we wanted to let Jules have it first. The masking isn't quite where he hoped it was. Luckily I haven't used this particular agent yet, too much nightshade for me.

edit: and Volin got the response he needed / wanted. This is being discussed on that morning ESPN show today.

Brady has been aggressively promoting his joint training/nutrition business involving Guerrero, several Patriots including Edelman have joined up with them, and Edelman gets popped for PED use. How is it not relevant enough for the media to ask Brady about this?

He doesn't have any obligation to answer, but it's a fair question to ask.

Yes, I am no fan of Volin's body of work, but his questioning of Brady regarding JE and AG (and TB12) was very much on the table. Of course, I have no issue with post-Deflategate Brady offering only the minimal required media availability

Do reporters ask similarly suggestive questions of a coach when any of the dozens of other players across the league get popped for PEDs while being managed by their team's training staff?

Have any coaches brought in third party trainers separate from team employees who double as their BFF/personal chef at home, and have been sued for defrauding cancer patients and other people out of money for fake health products that don't do anything to improve health to train those players? If so, I think it would be a pretty big story.

People are really getting (or have always been) weird with regards to Brady and his AG relationship. It is ok to appreciate that he is the GOAT, and still find it strange that he has decided to hitch his wagon to a snake oil salesman who defrauded cancer patients out of money and tells people that water prevents concussions and tomatoes are terrible for you. Brady spends a not insignificant portion of his free time telling people about how the TB12 method is so great and life-changing, so he should expect blow back when one of its adherents (and one his his best friends) is busted for using a mystery PED that triggered a positive test. I don't think he owes anyone an explanation, but to think he wouldn't be asked that question - or worse, that it is somehow out of bounds - seems ridiculous.

Also, fuck Ben Volin in his stupid face.

Volin on top rated sports talk radio show this afternoon in DC. Touched on this and other things non Pats related.

There is a door, Volin found a key and turned it. That’s what all this is about.

And my perspective on AG is pretty simple. When TB walks out the door for the last time, AG had better be in tow.
