Goucher becomes the Golden Knights tv play by play guy. Bruins will need to fill his spot on 98.5

Man, I love Goucher and hoped he would take over for Jack eventually. Sad to lose him. Vegas got a great announcer. He's great at what he does.

Yeah, Gouch is awesome. Happy for him, but this sucks as a B's fan who enjoyed listening to him call games.

Great get for Vegas. Definitely echo the sentiments here and I'll miss him on Bruin s radio telecasts.

I don't think I ever saw a broadcast play-by-play quality improve as much as when they went from Neumeier to Goucher. Partly because Neumeier was so bad, and mostly because gaucher was that good.

I hope they choose wisely.

Agreed. Hockey has to be the hardest game to call on radio given the speed of the game. Dave was great at vividly describing what was happening at the time it was happening without resorting to hyperbole or theatrics like our TV guy.

and he also managed to give Beers enough time to provide coherent analysis while the game was going on. (which is a credit to both of them).

Good luck to a guy from Pawtucket who loves the game of hockey dating back to his playing days at Tolman High.

To find Goucher's replacement, CBS Boston/Sports Hub will conduct a national search, just as it did when it hired Bob Socci for Pats in '13.
Hmmm...I wonder if anyone (@Chad Finn?) knows who will be conducting the search - as a B's fan who has called Beanpot games at the Garden on radio and now done a lot of Champions Hockey League commentary here in Europe over the past four years, I'd love to at least apply for the job. I know that tweet references a "national" search, but I figure if the NHL can import hundreds of European players, perhaps it could import one European-based American commentator as well.

I remember playing hockey with him in my driveway growing up in Pawtucket. Happy for him. Well deserved.

Interesting, i had no idea that he was from Pawtucket and went to Tolman. Of course, when i went through there he was still unknown so it's not like they would have ever talked about him
