“@CarrieMuskat: #Cubs vs Pirates has been suspended because of rain. It is deemed an official game and a tie because no make up date”

“@theaceofspaeder: The #Cubs at #Pirates game is the first MLB game to end in a tie since the #Astros at #Reds on June 30, 2005.”

Last Cubs tie was 5/28/1993 against Montreal; last Pirates tie since an affair with the Cardinals 8/24/1998. Last time these two tied? 8/7/1967 Game 2, called after 14 innings at 3-3.

wow that's up to 5 teams now which might only play 161 this year
So we already know it's not 5 but how could it be an odd number at all? If one team doesn't play a game then a second team by definition doesn't play it as well.
Am I missing something?

I haven't looked but you could have an odd number with one team only playing 160 and the other 4 at 161.

Could be up to 7 (or 6, not exactly sure how an odd number of teams can play 161) by the time the season ends. MLB just announced that the Tigers-Indians game postponed yesterday will only be made up if the Tigers are still in the Wild Card race or if it would affect the Indians seeding.

yeah for some reason I didn't include the Braves when thinking of the cancelled Miami game. so either 6 or 8 right now I believe.
