It's time for two on-field refs in major tournaments.

But for all the ref's mismanagement, the current situation is probably fair, and we may well have a situation where the second half will be fairly contested and the winner ultimately not the result of officiating.

Love Vidal diving and writhing, then getting up when he realized there was a scoring chance.

Players giving hell to the Ref and a clear "Speak slowly, I don't understand" in response from him.

Interesting that they pick the a guy who does not speak Spanish (at least fluently) for this final.

One of the matches on there is the last match up between these two which was really good. Having seen Brazilian league match ups most of those deserve multiple reds.

He's having a shit game but I don't know that he's a bad ref

By the amount of time it took to go to his back pocket, I don't think he realized until well after he pulled the yellow that it was Diaz's second. After that, he was looking for a chance to even I think.

Bullshit though it may be, as a neutral, I'm glad it's 10-on-10 now because the 2nd half will be less Chile parking the bus and more open and exciting.

In 20 minutes I assume this game will just be the ref running up and down the field flexing.

I watch virtually no soccer.

Is Chile more comfortable with 10 men, or is it just a different style of offense? Argentina seems to possess the ball relatively little but aim to strike quickly.

Wasn't expecting this to be scoreless in the second half, and yet..

Alexis has a broken ankle and he's still better than just about anything USA can put out there.

Or it could be boring as hell as Chile just passes it around the back line to kill time.

Wide open best player in the world. But Aguero always shoots if he's near the box.

On replay, that ball really skipped up right before contact. He was probably going high and that extra elevation turned it into a shank.
