No more 10:00 or later starts! Yay!

Let's go Pens and Preds. PK in the finals will cause riots in Montreal. Or is that on Thursdays generally?

Yuck

Le Trappe vs. Ulf/Cooke/Crosby
Kesler vs. James Neal/PK

Begrudgingly rooting for OTT/NAS but really just rooting against PIT the rest of the way.

Le Trappe needs to be relegated to the dustbin of NHL history. God help us if others start to copy or "improve" it.

Man, there are a LOT of empty seats in Anaheim. That kind of turnout for a conference finals game? Thats embarrassing.

It's a 6pm start on a work night. Traffic is supposedly miserable in that area. Bad look, but I'd put it more on a dumbass job of scheduling by the league.

Yeah, I kind of did a double take then realized the time and it all made sense. Angels are home too. Sucks. I get that they don't want a 10pm eastern start but man, tough for the fans out there.

There are still plenty of empty seats, and it's halfway through the second period. I'll give them a pass on the 6 pm start but... yeesh. The replay of the Ducks' first goal is sad looking.

It's absolutely the right call in at least 2 ways

1) intent to blow. Like it or not it's the rule. The puck was covered and as soon as the ref saw that and decided to blow it dead it was dead.

2) you can't push the puck in by pushing the glove/pad in which is what he did

I can't fucking stand him but my word what a play by Ryan on that goal. I'm not even mad, I'm just impressed.

Hard to tell with that one at least in my cursory viewing. Also dumb of Rust to come across the slot with his head down on a rush.

Phaneuf is a donkey, but I thought that was pretty clean, just brutal. head down over the middle, big dummy tucked his arm.
The leg trip he dropped later was not.

I have not watched on minute of this series so far. Looks like I'm not missing much. 1-0? For the Penguins?

The NHL must be ecstatic this terrible brand of boring hockey made it to the Conference finals.

I was flipping back and forth during the first two periods but I agree with Nap. Missed the third but saw the Pens were outshooting the Sens 8 to 1 at one point.

I really don't know why Ottawa isn't trying to open it up and using their decided speed advantage against Pittsburgh's beat-up backline.

Even down 1-0 in the dying minutes they were sitting back in the 1-3-1. All it's really doing is helping the Pens.

God, I really don't want to see this Sens team get to the Final and be dubbed "Canada's team" (TM) by Sportsnet/CBC like they're the second coming of the '79 Habs crossed with the '88 Oilers. I mean, it's probably happening already, but this team just deserves it the least.

On the other hand, it might just piss off every Habs and Leafs fan here in ways indescribable, that their team didn't get the brass ring, but this snoozefest Ottawa team gets Canada its first cup since '93.

Heck of a 3rd period for the Preds to tie it up with 34 sec left. Ducks killed a 93 sec 5-3 power play with under 4 min left but gave up the tying goal with the extra skater. Renne made an unbelievable save with about 6 min left to keep it at 2-0
