Grimaldi heads to the box for holding the stick at 3:46 of the 3rd for North Dakota. Power Play Ferris.

EDIT - Gothberg coming up huge in net here for the Sioux as Ferris stacks the crease line. And they kill it off.

Mavericks get called for tripping, and Lowell will have an abridged power play in 22 seconds once Zink's penalty expires.

Down to the final minute in Cinci. Ferris continues to flood the North Dakota zone and pepper the net with pucks, but Gothberg is saving the Sioux.

Ryan Papa gets St. Cloud on the board first, but Bryan Rust gets the equalizer for the Irish moments later. 9:21 left in the 1st.

OT underway in Cinci, and Ferris gets a huge chance just seconds in on a net rush but can't convert.

Lowell may have made it 2-0, but the call on the ice is no goal. It'll be reviewed, but it appeared their repeated jamming at the puck might have gotten it over the line and behind Huggins.

EDIT - Call stands after review. Still 1-0 River Hawks with 15:00 to play.

6:30 through OT and Ferris continues to dominate both puck possession and offensive chances. Gothberg has been a stone wall for UND while at the other end C.J. Motte collects cobwebs.

St. Cloud takes a 2-1 lead with 35 seconds left in the 1st as Brooks Bertsch scores on just the Huskies' 5th shot of the period.

The longer the Ferris-UND game goes without a Ferris goal in spite of their persistent pressure, the more you get the feeling the Sioux will win it on a fluke.

EDIT - And just as I post that, UND gets a 2-on-1 breakaway, and Motte makes a TREMENDOUS save moving left to right. The Sioux executed the crossing pass flawlessly, and I thought it was over.

8:00 left in Worcester, UM-Lowell still clinging to their 1-0 lead. Both teams have over 30 shots on goal tonight.

Me too. Gothberg is a Bs pick, I believe—yes?

Wow. A Ferris turnover at the blue line spawns a 3-on-1 break for UND, but Travis White sprawls and makes a huge block for the Bulldogs. Holy shit, just the sort of fluky play I'd expect.

And we'll have a second OT. Gothberg's made a career-high 42 saves tonight.

EDIT - Make that 43 saves. Shots are 44-25, Bulldogs.

Empty netter for UMass-Lowell in the final minute, and they'll win it 2-0.  ESPNU just switched there for the ending.

EDIT - errrr.... Make it 2-1 as the Mavs score with 10.8 left. It's Minnesota State's first goal in their last 7 periods of NCAA tournament play. It's also the first goal allowed by Connor Hellebuyck since Christ was a Cub Scout.

The Irish get the equalizer on Kevin Lind's 3rd of the year with 11:42 left. Play getting more physical & chippy in St. Paul in a 2-2 game. Notre Dame leads in shots this period 12-1, and 21-7 on the night.

And there it is. The Sioux are heading to Philly with a 2-1 win.

A point-to-point pass left to right, a shot on net, and the juicy rebound off Motte gets stuffed in by Connor Gaarder.

Holy shit.

North Dakota's OT goal is the first time in this year's tournament (9 of 15 games now) that a team giving up the 1st goal of the game has held a lead.

UND will make its 20th Frozen Four appearance in school history and sixth in 10 years under Dave Hakstol, who is now 14-4 in regional games.

Final minute of the 2nd in St. Paul, and the Huskies get a fluke goal to take a 3-2 lead over Notre Dame with 24.5 secs left. Jonny Brodzinski takes an uncoralled puck off a teammate's skate and through a screen. Steven Summerhays never had a chance in the Irish net. Power play goal, and we head to the 2nd intermission.

Nothing doing for the Huskies. Their first shot of the 3rd period came with 3:37 left and a man advantage. They've had just 11 shots on net the entire game. Kind of amazing that they've scored on three of them.

Down to the final minute of regulation.

EDIT - And we have another overtime. SOG: Notre Dame 36, St. Cloud 12.

Underway in St. Paul for the extra period. And Summerhays only has to wait 20 seconds to see his first St. Cloud shot on net.

Yes, he stopped it.

So regardless of the outcome of this overtime, we get two Minnesota schools in St. Paul or Lucia vs. Lucia tomorrow?

Awesome.

Man, St. Cloud really ramping things up offensively. A 2-on-1 finishes with Brodzinski on the right, firing a full-windup slap shot in full stride from point blank range on Summerhays, who makes the gut save and holds on.

St. Cloud with some more prime scoring chances... in 9 minutes of overtime, they've equaled their regulation shot totals (12 in regulation, 12 in OT so far).

Man, on the replay, that read and decision by Faragher to come out and play that puck was ballsy as hell. He's saved St. Cloud's bacon twice in OT.

I don't know if St. Cloud ate their Wheaties, their Spinach, or their Muscle Milk at the end of regulation, but they've become a team obsessed with intensity compared to the first three periods.

Absolutely. And he played great in regulation.

Now a bench minor for too many men on the Irish. Yikes...
