Wooooo! SFA wins the Southland, beating Sam Houston 69-49.

They take their 31-2 record into the tourney as a likely 12 seed.

Congrats, man. Second-longest unbeaten streak in the nation behind Wichita.

bryce cotton deserves to play in the ncaa tourney so bad, basically carried this team on his all year and much of last year playing out of position because someone had to, averaged just under 40 minutes a game

Congrats Providence fans , that's how you remove any doubt. Added bonus this safely moves Providence out of the play in games

Final game of the night is the Big West championship, and freshman Ridge Shipley of #7 Cal Poly just hit a three with 13.7 secs left to take a 1-pt lead over #5 Cal St-Northridge. It's on ESPN2. Fantastic finish coming...

EDIT - Tre Hale-Edmerson drove the lane from the left and buried a short jumper, but it doesn't count as he's called for the offensive foul after barreling over a Poly defender. Good call. Now 4.6 secs left. CSNU has to foul immediately on the inbound to have any chance.

EDIT - Kyle Odister hits one of two FTs. Northridge gets the rebound, but they kind of stand around looking at each other before advancing the ball up court. And even when they do, there's no urgency or clock awareness whatsoever. They cross half court with about .5 secs left, and don't get a shot off until well after the buzzer. Pretty surprising breakdown for a Reggie Theus-coached team.

Cal Poly advances to the dance where they'll probably be in one of the Tuesday play-in games. Their RPI this morning was 232.
