In the end you're probably right. He's such a generally limited player that its hard to tell, But if you've ever had -- or read the accounts of athletes that have had -- plantar fascitis (Antonio Gates comes to mind), there are some days you barely feel it and others where its like there's broken glass in your shoes.

Clearly I don't know, but the dude looked hobbled in the last game, we were talking about it and then he is sitting on the bench with his face in a bag of ice.

Last night, right from the jump he was moving around really well. It was a stark difference.

I'm up in little Burlington VT. The talk radio guys up here were discussing the possibility of the Celtics adding Joe Johnson. I'm not really a basketball guy but I'm a little surprised that no one here is discussing this based on what I was hearing on the radio. Adding a clutch shooter and another guy who can create his own shot might make the playoffs more fun this year.

If the season ended today, the C's would host the Bulls in round 1. If the top 4 seeds all won, they'd be looking at going through Toronto to get to the Eastern Conference Finals. Obviously getting through the Caveliers is a tall task. So my follow up questions are: How good can this year's team be? Would adding a guy like Joe Johnson be a good move for this team?

JJ cannot create his own shot anymore. He's a plodding, spot up shooter now.

Joe Johnson will have more attractive offers both in terms of ring chasing a championship (Cleveland) or a more consistent defined role (Atl/Mia) than he would in Boston. I'm sure how he was treated by prior Celtics management doesn't leave a good taste in his mouth when the city of Boston comes up as a possible destination. He isn't coming here.

The first part is certainly true. I disagree with the last part. The Celtics have an entirely new ownership group, GM, and coach since JJ played here.

Thinking towards the offseason, are there any teams that have a dire need for rotational players, no cap space, and assets worth trading for?

Cleveland and Kevin Love is all I'm coming up with, but I don't think that will happen for a whole host of reasons.

I just don't see the benefits of any of the veteran free agents. With our depth, how much of an upgrade are these guys going to be? Whose minutes does Johnson get? ET, AB, Crowder, Smart? I just don't see him as an upgrade over any of those guys. He's better than Hunter or Young, but those guys aren't playing. At best he's depth in the potential case of injury, but that's probably less than what he's looking for. Same true of Martin or Varajeo. They need to go to a contending team that needs depth.

Yeah. If injuries are limiting him, this is how. Doesn''t much matter, though, as there is not reason to think he won't just keep on going the way he has.

I like him, good role player.

Not professional athlete, but have had PF pretty bad and I'd say it's more accurate to say glass in your shoes while having a railroad spike shoved up your heel.

I have been dealing with PF for a year now. Seen a PT, and I'm just about through it I think. But there were days when I almost couldn't walk because of the pain. PP, it's a great description - the railroad spike shoved up your heel. Very accurate. It's absolute agony. And here's the funny thing. Normally I think, "I'll just overpower this. I'll just live with the pain and do my normal thing." But my body simply wouldn't let me. I would try to take a step (these are on the really bad days) and plant my foot and my leg would basically collapse. It wasn't a matter of willpower. It's that the body wouldn't do what I wanted it to do because the pain was so great.

I'm glad I'm not in that place anymore. That was awful.
