Holy shit.

What a world. It's Twitter burner accounts all the way down.

That should do it for Colangelo. Quite the tenure he had.

His bashing of Embiid is wild, but his Fultz revelation is really interesting- "a traumatic family experience that really messed him up". Wow.

On a lighter note, his naked jealousy of Hinkie is absolutely hilarious.

I was thinking that too.

Like, just bracketing that little bit out of what insanity this is--but, to the extent some of what he said might be true, it could also give a glimpse into just how little we know about these things we talk about.

This is weird.

I'm only disappointed that Colangelo didn't care enough to get a SoSH account. We need more drama here.

Heh. First thing I did after I read the article was search here for "okafor physical" and "failed physical".

This is all so incredible.

That's gotta be the most insane and fascinating article I have ever read.

I can't imagine any way he isn't fired, just unreal.

I'm reminded of Colangelo's egomania even with the designs of the practice facilities. Remember this guy from a year ago, who pulled a "Papi jersey buried in the concrete of the new Yankee Stadium" routine by writing "Trust the process" all over the Sixers' electrical wiring? Buried in there was this:

The GM’s office is a big, beautiful space in a prime part of the facility. It has two glass walls — one that looks out onto the practice courts and one that borders the office section of the building. You can see everything inside the office, which is where the automatic electric blinds come in. According to Son of Sam, it was initially designed as a war room and/or conference room. He said the original plans, from the Sam Hinkie days, called for the GM’s office to be much more modest — a smaller room he called "nothing special" that was located by the parking lot where the players enter. That changed, SOS said, when Colangelo took over. He didn’t want the small office. He wanted the big glass box.
and,
"Any of us would have done the same thing in my position," he said. "Suppose you were an electrician in South Jersey and you were left alone in that building to do your work. What would you do?"

He wants the Sixers to understand he wasn’t trying to be mean-spirited, and he’s hopeful that enough time has passed that Harris and Blitzer and Colangelo and the rest of the Sixers brass will chuckle. Maybe. But a team insider wasn’t so sure. That person said the higher-ups remain so sensitive about Hinkie and the Process that "it would not surprise me if, in a month’s time, we’re tearing out light fixtures."
The dude is Scott Pruitt with a sports dad.

Yeah man. We just got a piece of a heretofore unspeculated-about answer from an insider to the biggest mystery of this NBA season, and it was just kind of subsumed by the crazy-ass packaging. And shit, sounds like the last thing Fultz needs right now, basketball-wise, is more institutional change, which is inevitable at this point. Colangelo may be unhinged, but his tweets at least did seem sympathetic to the kid.

It’s like Edward De Vere is scripting both the NFL and the NBA

Ones a comedy, the other a tragedy

seriously though, this is on par with the Manti Te'o catfishing, except he's in a position of real responsibility, leaking sensitive personal and business secrets to The Internets. I just love how incredulous the author remains throughout his entire telling of the tale.

Ben detrick played that masterfully. He had no way to confirm his source, but Colangelo ton the bait and did it for him.

I see this as potentially bad news on the LeBron front. If Colangelo is canned, it clears the way for LBJ to hand pick his GM.

Also for everybody who was hating on Embiid during the second round, a reminder that he’s got a sense of humor.

I don’t know, it’s all a poorly produced Serial ripoff without the links to his kids. Beyond that, it’s probably forgiven, or eventually blows over, if he’s just pumping his own tires out there (though Hinkie and his lawyers might have other feelings).

The player stuff could make this effectively career-ending if the team determines it’s him, even if none of it is true. I actually can’t decide which would be worse (non-legal division): if he was leaking real internal player stuff or making false disparaging statements about them.

On the other hand this makes the org look like a total clusterfuck at worst and second-rate at best. LeBron doesn’t have the time to go clean up a franchise. He creates enough drama on his own, anyways.

Sam Hinkie's dark plot to get restored to the Brotherly Throne this season is pretty elaborate. Cool of him to go into AI in his spare time.

So first of all what a fucking joke this is whatever happens.
As most of you know I fucking hate colangelo old and jr. Fuck them and fuck the NBA for forcing Hinkie out and pushing them on him.

If this is true, and it seems to be getting more likely not less, there's so many reasons this is SOOOOO stupid.
1) Any actual GM has contacts who can leak news and stories or hit jobs on players etc and with a lot more impact than random Twitter accounts
2) why so many?
3) no one I know knew these accounts, I'm a pretty hard core fan and it's not like these accounts were remotely followed or interesting
4) talking shit on his contracted players is freaking insane. It's too dumb right?

I think he's fucked and good riddance, but lord the timing is mental. Right ahead of such a huge offseason.

But on reflection it allows LeBron to pick his GM. Raises the odds of lebron ASSUMING colangelo is fired. If he stays I think no chance anyone comes. (Which is why he's gone)
That LeBron gm scares me. Hinkie back would be... I'd lose my mind

Simmons told Ainge about these accounts a long time ago.
Sixers owners knee this story was dropping and extend Brett Brown the same day to provide some stability.
Now worried David Griffin will slide Into the GM chair...he had a good relationship w Lebron?

I don't think that's true though, Brett Brown just got extended and is loved by everyone.
If LeBron can pick a GM then his guy is in control and I doubt he cares if he has the boss's ear.

The sixers have some great staff and analytics people, and fantastic New fasicilites and young talent. And colangelo was forced on us anyway

Also wonder who let Simmons is dating Kendall Jenner right now too!! Conspiracy people saying it's colangelo leaking that to distract. Lmao what a joke.

Yeah I’m probably projecting my hopes a bit. The timing is important. As in, how fuckin fast can they boot this alleged maniac out the door and wash the stink off. It has to be immediate before he’s allowed to touch anything else so they can roll out the red carpet in earnest. If this lingers at all, it’s trouble. Draft is three weeks away. Not great to have to deal with this kind of upheaval, but they can swing it if they have good people working under him. They’re actually a bit lucky this didn’t come out at an even worse time, like draft week or just before FA or something like that.

One of the accounts live-tweeting BC’s son’s basketball games is either the most damning evidence against him or damning evidence of a truly sadistic long con.
