IS there a strategy to tripping him on the break away and giving away a penalty shot? Or just kinda stupid when Marner is that far in front?

Seems like Marner doing something fancy in the run of play has a lower chance of success than a formal penalty shot

I know the little moves are faster than we can see or appreciate, even in person, but that made Tuukka look silly.

I’ll take the penalty shot. Gives the goalie time to reset, eliminates any rebound possibilities.
The rebound would’ve went to a Bruin since a Leaf was nowhere close. Just an awful play. I’d take the breakaway while being harassed versus the penalty shot.

It seems that they’re trying to get Andersen moving side to side. I like it.

I would agree. Gotta do your moves with a guy breathing down your neck, your rhythm may be a little off since you had to make a defensive steal and then sprint and maybe a little out of control. Penalty shot take your sweet ol time

edit - plus in this case DeBrusk killed himself

Was it game 6 or 7 in 98 against the Caps when the Bs has about triple the shots on goal and lost in OT (and got eliminated).

This game is reminding me of that one.

Great pressure there. Jack was right - “everything but the shot”.

The team has been shit in front of him but Tuukka has been completely noncompetitive on the last two goals.

That was shit from start to finish. Another breakaway. And a shot that Tuukka positively has to have.

Andersen is giving up huge rebounds and they aren’t getting to therm.

And he just saved their asses on the last two chances.

It’s moot if the rest of the guys don’t catch up to playoff energy. Not even close right now.

They’re in trouble if the Bergeron line loses to the Tavares line which they are tonight.

3rd I put Pasta with Krejci.
