It's Jimmy Murphy. He's a baboon who has no idea what the Bruins are doing, and worse yet he's just a terrible and lazy person so his rumors are just complete nonsense. Did you see his Chara tweet storm?

Stop following him and stop linking to his stuff. He's awful.

We'll see if there is any waiver activity for the B's today at noon. The B's are currently carrying a full roster. They made need some flexibility if they are looking to add. Cehlarik, Pastrnak, Carlo and Vatrano are waiver exempt and could be assigned down in a pinch, but I think we may see Khudobin and possibly someone like Hayes on waivers so that Don has more options tomorrow if something materializes.

Good. He should be looking to deal Liles and Belesky and should be actively seeking to deal McQuaid. I have little faith in his willingness and capability of the latter.

Friedman says we may be in in Vrbata.

He'll likely be expensive. I'd rather pay less for a Stafford, Sharp or maybe even Iginla.

I'm not sure that he is much better than Liles, to be honest. D isn't really an area of concern at the moment anyway.

I still want Sharp for a 4th (I'd give up a 3rd but happier with a 4th) though the NMC cshea mentioned may get in the way. Not really interested in an upgrade on D. They could use the help but this group has performed nicely under the revised system.

Sharp is apparently injured and unlikely to be traded today.

I think Stafford could be a cheap buy to fill a similar role. Upgrade Hayes' spot and hedge against Cehlarik.

Ah, bummer. Stafford never struck me as offensively talented like Sharp, though I distinctly remember him killing the Bs in a few games - even a hat trick, but an upgrade over Hayes would be helpful. This team looks like they may actually be good and I think another forward is a worthwhile investment. I wouldn't give up more than a 4th.

Some deadline wrap up notes from Friedman's weekly column..

- B's were pretty far along with the Coyotes and Vrbata. The other teams chasing Vrbata thought he was coming here.

- There were a few teams poking around for Beleskey. The money and cap hit will be tricky but he thinks something could happen in the spring, and that Anaheim could be interested.

The Anaheim note is surprising. They have almost $70mm already committed for next year (they are only under the cap because of LTIR) and are going to lose a really good player in the expansion draft. They have to protect Perry, Getzlaf, Kesler and Vermette for forwards and Bieksa for D, which means they will expose either one of Cam Fowler or Sami Vatanen or one of Rickard Rakell or Jakob Silfverberg. I would guess they'd do 7 forwards and protect Rakell, Silfverberg and Cogliano and expose Vatanen. It just seems like curious roster management to be pursuing Beleskey given their issues.
