As long as they get out of this without anyone else getting hurt, I can live with it.

Meanwhile Florida isn't going away. Guess that game will have some meaning for them on Thursday, unfortunately.

1) I hate when PPs get interrupted by an intermission.
It’s usually a pretty sweet deal if there’s a chunk of time left...you get clean, smooth ice to slide the puck around instead of shit that’s been chewed up for 20 minutes by the best skaters in the world.

I mean the game is over but Bruin just got upended without the puck. Even saw the ref start to raise his whistle then nothing.

A couple of unrelated musings...

Sometimes there is an adrenaline rush that allows players to compensate when a team mate goes down. The Bs have been overcoming player after player being hurt. I wonder if the inverse happened tonight - they got most everyone back and there was a bit of a let down expecting things to be ok. Combined with the schedule beating them up physically and they were setup for this kind of game. Just amateur psychology I guess, but I wonder about these kinds of things.

I remember once hearing Claude talk about an injured player coming back to a great game. He told the reporters that after the first game back adrenaline rush they usually had a down game or two adjusting to their return. I wonder if we will see something similar of McAvoy.

I think it has more to do with a busy schedule and an off day in Florida yesterday. The last time they had an off day in Florida they lost 3-0 to the Panthers the next night. I fully expect a bounce back effort Thursday night.

I think there's something to that. It's one thing when guys go out. The replacements have to play well, but the team will be led by whatever leaders are left. But when leaders come back -- Chara, McAvoy, bergeron, backes - not only do the returnees have to get back up to speed, but the entire team has to sort of recalibrate to get back to a "normal" they haven't had for awhile. Throw in the schedule, which probably makes practice tough, and I think there's a recipe for some out of kilterness.

I've been watching the NCAA tournament and the thing that stands out the most to me is the difference in skating ability. Not only are the pros pretty much all phenomenal skaters, fast in every direction, but they're usually bigger too. Gives me even more appreciation for the pro game. I love NHL hockey but I do like the more open Olympic size ice to really let the skill guys fly around.

Also, let's not forget that Tampa has been reeling a bit as of late and Coop probably got the team up for this game big time. I totally buy the idea that the Bruins let off a bit with everyone coming back and TB ratcheted everything up a notch with Stamkos out.

If the B's and Tampa end up meeting in the playoffs, I'm going to take a lot more out of the first 3 games of the year (3 B's wins) than I am out of the last one to determine my expectations for the series. This game was a combination of everything just going wrong for the B's, and a few games a season you just need to go "well, that sucked" and move on.
