Who starts Tuesday? That is the Pom/ Wright/ Johnson spot. Velazquez pitched last night so he's out.
He threw 12 pitches in one inning. Basically the equivalent of a throw-day. He can pitch two days after that

True but he also threw 23 pitches Friday night.
So, again, two days after pitching, he can be expected to be able to "start," and maybe give them 3-4 innings and they crazy-quilt it the rest of the way.

You sound as though you're worried that he won';t be able to go 7.

The opposite. I'm worried they'll call up Beeks or Chandler Shepherd and we'll NEED 15 runs to stay close.

adapt the NL DH already, commish! even with Rick's mega hit last week.

"Sounds as if Brian Johnson irritated his hip running the bases in his last in DC. Does not sound as if he will be down for extended time."

He's been the PawSox closer and has good numbers. He had a cup of coffee with the Angels in 2013 but then had Tommy John. I read reports that he has a mid-nineties FB along with a curve and a change.
He was drafted in 2007 so he has to be out of options but I don't think that is really a concern with a guy like this.

Do any of the folks who've gone to PawSox games have any first hand scouting reports?

I see the Kevin Cash theory coming into play. Game of relievers pitching. Everyone gets in like Little League.

I'm sorry, but it's absurd that a well conditioned professional athlete cannot run the bases without hurting himself.

Why? He may be well conditioned, but that's not what he's well conditioned for. Would it be absurd to you if Tom Brady hurt himself trying to kick a field goal?

Remember, he's not just trying to run the bases, he's trying to run them at a Major League level. Something he probably does not work on much as it has no real benefit to his primary job.
