Aw, shit. Here we are. Win, get a little luck and we are dancing. The Bruins came to play Thursday. They skated, they hit, and they took out their big brass balls and tea bagged the Wings into submission. I reveled in the glory. We all did. We were witnesses to what they could be. What they are. Fast, physical, lethal. This afternoon they get Ottawa, the same pricks who stole their spot last year. They must seek revenge. They must stare them in the eyes, grab them by the balls and twist until they cry for their mother's mother. This is not play fun time. This is hockey. I see the path. I see the way in. Rip the playoff spot out of their cold dead hands.

Just win.

Readying myself for this final regular season game, I remembered my interest in reading and contributing to the following thread which started the season:

http://sonsofsamhorn.net/index.php?threads/how-do-you-think-the-bruins-are-going-to-do-this-year.11338/

First off, let me fall on my own sword and admit I was one of the really, really pessimistic posters, looking at something under 70 points... Hey! No! Listen, I thought Chara was old and badly broken, I thought trading Dougie would seriously sour the locker room and that Claude would come to loggerheads with the team. Oops.

But dang, re-reading the thread, I'm wildly impressed with the knowledge of many of the posters: The thread almost perfectly predicted the season, what with low-90 points and the defensive struggles especially.

So let me take today's game thread to thank all you RMPS posters for educating and entertaining me. Hope to see you all 'on the other side' with some post-season postings.

Here
These twitter reports make it sound like he's dead or something. Kneeling, can't stand for long, leaning against things. Sounds like he has the Chara AIDS from a few years back. Someone get him a Coke.

Gus is a fine backup, if they can't beat Ottawa with him they don't deserve the chance anyway. They should be fine.

Rask is taking shots now, doesn't look out of the ordinary. Maybe this is a puck drop decision.

Either way, the post game takes will be blistering.

Love how none of the intrepid local scribes have firm enough contacts to have gotten this scoop before warm up.

Any reports as to what is wrong Rask? I don't remember hearing anything after Thursday's game

In fairness, Rask practiced/skated yesterday with no apparent problems. Given they are rushing to get Smith here to backup, seems like this is something that developed fairly quickly and was completely unexpected. No idea what time Rask got to the rink, but seems like he simply showed up this morning feeling like shit.

It doesn't matter. This isn't nancy fun play time. It's not a fucking tea party. This is hockey. Gus will lead us to the promise land. Rip their throats out.

No reason they shouldn't be late Ottawa today, with or without Rask. I'm not sure they're going to get the help they need, but win this and see where the chips fall.
