Goal....assuming it's not overturned. Dude was cross-checked into the goalie.

Okay, helps...... regulation would have been better but the Bruins really shouldn't have to count on other teams at this point.

Also, what happens if the Bruins win and the Flyers win and get another point??
If the Bruins and Flyers end up tied, Bruins would advance because in that scenario they'll have more regulation wins.

Here's what needs to happen:

Bruins need to win and have either the Wings or Flyers drop a point somewhere along the way.

Pitt would love to put Philly out, though.
Precisely. I expect a full effort from the Pens on Saturday. They would love to give the killing blow to the Flyers.

If I'm the Rangers, as much as the Pens have been hot lately. They still have Fluery in net and a leaky defense. Their last few years in the playoffs they have been a dumpster fire of suck. Florida might be the new kid with no big names, but they will grind you in a long series and they have a terrific young defense. I would not be so quick to assume the Isles and Rags will try to lose to get them in the first round.

It makes total sense for the Rags to tank. They avoid Pitt who is on fire, and get Florida, but not only that, they also avoid Washington in round 2 if they were to beat Florida. They would be lined up in the Atlantic division and get the winner of DET/BOS vs Tampa.

Fair point on avoiding Washington. I'm still not buying into the Pens, no matter how well they've played lately.

Still, while I expect Lundqvuist to sit, I don't expect the Rags to roll over and tank Saturday. It's against the "hockey honor code", and would be horribly bad karma.

You all may be right about trying to avoid the Caps and Pens, but the way to do that is sit stars or guys who are banged up. No way you let up on the effort throttle this close to postseason. Not likely a huge difference.

MAF is still out with a concussion. Hard to tell what his status is but I bet he won't see ice for the rest of the regular season. Pittsburgh did just say he's making "significant progress" so who really knows.

Wait, they distinguish between OT and shootout wins?
Yes. If two teams end up tied in points, the first tiebreaker is non-shootout wins (known as "ROW" = regulation and OT wins). Detroit now has one more "ROW" than Boston, so if they end up tied in points, Detroit now has the tiebreaker. BUT, if the Bruins win in regulation or OT and Detroit wins in a shootout, then they're tied in both points and ROW. Then you go to the next tiebreaker -- head-to-head -- and the Bruins hold that tiebreaker.

Just read that the Rangers will be sitting Zuccarello, Girardi, McDonagh and Stalberg tomorrow and will start Antii Rannta in net.

McDonagh the only loss there. Girardi sitting is good news, whoever fills in for him is an upgrade for the Rangers.

Yep, neither played last night. They are really just sitting Zuc and Lundqvist.

Sully is playing things close to the vest and not announcing his lineup for tomorrow. I see no reason for them to risk anyone. I haven't looked at their health situation, but if I'm them, I tell Crosby, Letang and Kessel to not bother showing up at the rink.
