JimEd4HoF posted that he recently purchased a new boat and I was going to ask about it in the Father's Day thread and decided to start a new thread on, boats.

I have a drift boat and a raft out here in Montana and recently picked up a SeaArk MVT 1860 for use inshore in FLA. It has a 70hp 4 stroke, double 10' power poles and a Humminbird 997c SI fish finder. It is a pure fishing machine and since I purchased it at the end of the season, I am really fired up about getting back down to Apalachee Bay in Nov/Dec to explore the area and fish like crazy.

What's your boat, where are you taking it and what's the main use?

Maine
22' Pontoon Boat out at camp on Great Moose Lake in Hartland, Maine. Spent most of today on it with Tharkette, the Tharklings, and my step-father. Also 3 canoes, a handful of kayaks, and a rowboat with a little 4 hp outboard on it. The big boat is for cruising around and/or anchoring in the lake as a base of operations for swimming, island exploring, etc. I fish out of the others. I'd love to get a "regular" boat--something in-between the rowboat and the pontoon boat--that I can move from place to place more easily, but that's likely to be some years down the road.

Nice collection. I always figured you were mangifirek's son. Amirite?

My brother is into the 17'/18' aluminum fishing boat for Maine lakes. Trolling for Brookies and LLS on Rangeley is a favorite thing to do. I had a portable downrigger for my Radisson back in the day. One of those might turn that rowboat into a deadly little fishing machine. Not sure what there are for fish in Great Moose Lake though.

MYRTLE BEACH!!!!
I’ve got a Scout 175 Sportfish w/ Yamaha 90 Fourstroke. I don’t fish but I bought it as an all purpose boat. It’s a center console so its pretty functional. We use it mainly in the river, but there are some inshore inlets local and we use it there some.
