Verlander is such a turd. In his post game he used the “we were so injured” line and something about it being a coin toss with the winner being the team that is playing the best baseball at the time. “We battled through it.”

Sir, the Sox played better baseball than your team all year. And are just as banged up. Lose with grace. It’s a child’s game being played by grown men.

I'm I the only one who every time I see Verlander all I can think about is how I've seen his bare ass?

I hope they interview Pedroia and Sale and Steven Wright to get their takes on how much healthier the Red Sox are.

Apparently being down a couple of minutes after banging into the wall is enough to count Marlose among the feeble and infirm.

I was about to quibble, then I checked and realized that Trot's ALDS heroics was 2003.

Could you please show your work ? I’d be very interested to know how you would prove that actually. Do you have a machine which allows you to see infinite parallel universes or something? ;)

Eric Gagne finally became a true Red Sox today, this is surreal.

"Cora says they realized recently that Kimbrel was tipping his pitches. Kimbrel says he got a text from Cora’s close friend Eric Gagne last night who noticed something and wanted to pass it along to Kimbrel and LeVangie for them to work on."

Absolutely. And I didn't even think of myself as being 'positive' really, its just, at some point if you're out to enjoy yourself watching you've got to take the hint, right?

I don't care how many people I'm repeating they just went 5-0 on the road against the Yankees and the Astros. Just like 2013, this just feels like a "team" in every sense of the word.

the Astros have had catching issues all season with McCann well on the decline phase. that's why they picked up Maldonado from the Angels to fill in.

just a reminder our catching unit is not that bad, relatively. (Vaz still drives me insane though)

And Smith, Thornburg, Pomeranz, Mookie, Vaz, EdRod...who else got banged up and missed significant time this year?

Shit, it may be easier to name the guys that didn't.

Anyone notice in the celebration footage on TBS that Betts clunked Nunez in the head with his Champagne bottle? Hope it’s a sign that mookie’s starting to hit things hard again.

Wow, I randomly started watching a Pee Wee Reese AB about 21minutes in and the 1st base coach gets hit with an errant throw. “Never seen that before” says the announcer. Reminded me of Joe West getting hit. Thanks for posting that, I’ll have to watch more this weekend.

This post needs more love. Please establish a clear protocol in future, the hopping between 1 and 2 in particular at the end was a nightmare.
Surely outs are counted DOWN as standard ?

What do you do when it comes to a magic number? You count down to 0.

    Same with outs.

Literally nobody says "24 down" at the beginning of a 9th inning, everyone says "3 to go."

    Nice.

I am thinking "Fuck you Red Sox; hope LA / MIL rip out your beating hearts" would not have gotten them a cameo on TBS...

They played six years together, on the Dodgers. It's six and a half if you count 2007 You know, six is a pretty big number.

And @DrewDawg shall lead us. A 9 game streak to start the year, an 8 game streak to bookend the season would be nice.

I don’t know if this is the case for anyone else, but whenever I see Gagne’s name, I think of his shitty 1/4 season for the Sox, completely forgetting his historic seasons for the Dodgers where he was the most dominant closer in ML.
