We should start Workman or Hembree and use the other one right after to get them out of the game early so we don’t have to use them late. If one gives up a run in the first it’s less of a problem than giving one up in the 7th.

Hm. A little concerned about all the warming up Price did, but hey, here we go.

Why does eveyone think Kimbrel is unavailable tomorrow? Jansen through over 30 pitches for the Dodgers in the extra inning game and then came in to get the last out today (er, yesterday). Kimbrel isn't going to go 2 innings but he actually may be better after finally getting a lot of work tonight. I wouldn't be shocked at all to see him pitch tomorrow (If the situation calls for it).

If we get to the 7th with a lead, all kinds of people will be available.

Price says he would have been brought in for the 9th if the Sox scored 2 in the 9th.

Well, you could argue that Craig has been awful precisely because he hasn't had enough work over the last 2.5 weeks.

    That's because the trajectory matters.

"No interference shall be allowed when a fielder reaches over a fence, railing, rope or into a stand to catch a ball. He does so at his own risk."

Hinch is assuming Betts went over the wall. What Hinch is avoiding is that the call on the field was interference, therefore it needs evidence to overturn. There isn't any. That call, based on the replays we have available was not going to be changed from the call on the field.

Are we going to pull a MIL and have Price face one batter then bring in a slew of RH relievers and bring back Price in game 6?

Cora has guided this team to a DS series win over the 100 win Yankees and now a 3-1 series lead over the 103 win Astros. I'm all in.

Bottom half of the order and the non Kimbrels in the pen were the reason we were going nowhere in the post season. SMH it is baseball, I should know better. LOL

Thank you Joe West, you are the Best

JBJ for President, or at least LCS MVP. If he could only be more consistent

Nothing in that line says trajectory matters. Would the call be any different if Betts jumped to save a home run on a liner or if he was lined up a foot from a wall to make a warning track catch and a fan reached out? You can argue whether Mookie reached into the stands, but trajectory of the ball is irrelevant.

Honestly I don’t give a fucking shit if the stupid interference call was right or not. They called it an out, Sox got the win, and I’m going to bed.

Sigh. The reference to trajectory is their way of saying the ball was over the fence and Betts was reaching into the crowd.

Hinch's argument is that Betts glove was into the stands, not in front of the wall. I AM NOT SAYING HE'S CORRECT. But that's what they're talking about.

I'm sure you know the difference in arguments between a fan reaching over the wall and Betts reaching over the wall. That's the argument here. And again, just in case I wasn't clear, I'm not saying Betts reached into crowd. I'm saying that that is what they are saying happened and why they think it should not be interference.

Totally agree. I think he pitches the 9th with a lead should the situation arise. I'd prefer to see a 10-2 shellacking in the Sox' favor, obviously. It's too bad about the results thus far...Kimbrel's a great pitcher. Maybe he and Price will both get to shine tomorrow.

    WHY NOT US?

Benintendi will get all the talk, and deservedly so, but that Mookie play in the 8th still has me amazed. A speedy player laced a line drive down the line and he races over, picks the ball up, quickly pivots, and then fires a laser right at Bogaerts. Given Kemp’s speed, there was literally no margin for error on the throw and he had no time to throw, yet, he threw an absolute strike. It reminded me of prime Ichiro. Just an amazing play.

Kimbrel has allowed 14 of 28 postseason batters to reach and has an 8.44 ERA. Somehow we’ve not only survived that but won 6 of 8.

Houston can moan all they want but there weren’t any umpiring calls forcing them to walk in runs or hit batters or give up passed balls or not step on second base. Like, play better? Then maybe complain?

How do you sleep? I was sitting right on the left field line with an amazing view of the catch. Stadium went from loud and screaming to shock.

Astro fans say they made too many mistakes against a great team. And they did. How do you miss 2nd on that potential dp? How does a fan get in a position to interfere on a potential hr? How do you have passed ball after passed ball to get runs in scoring position?

Fuck yeah. No takebacks. At minimum it was so close either call would have been fair, but I think they got it right. But whatever that ink already looks dry, its a W.

When you sit back and consider the whole thing, this baseball game was simply absurd.
