It might be wishful thinking, but it feels like one of those seasons where people look back and say, wow the Patriots just flipped a switch come playoff time. If we win tomorrow, I think we finally get our blowout in a superbowl.

We know the odds are against the Pats. They have only one once in Arrowhead in their History!!! They are lousy on the road this year. Brady's Pats are 3-4 on the road in the playoffs, last win was the Chargers in January of 07. Only two teams have gone to 3 or more straight Super Bowls-Fins 6,7 and 8. And the Bills of course-25-28. But.....this is the stuff they love playing for. Being the underdog and proving the haters that Brady and the Pats are old and done. Win or lose I can't complain of the success of the past 18 seasons. If they can pull this one off this might be the best of all. As good as the comeback two years ago. Good comparison is the old veteran 1969 Celtics which Red and Russ said that title meant the most because they were older and big underdogs. To me this would mean the most.

I posted this article last week comparing refs for this year. Blakeman ranks 7th (tied with two others) out of 17 for holding. 5th highest overall flag rate.

Great article thanks. I'm guessing most of those calls are for holding on pass plays if Blakemen is responsible for the T not the interior OL play as the article suggests. Trent Brown could be in trouble if so as he has had struggles with fast smaller pass rushers this year.
Hopefully Blakemen's propensity to throw roughing the passer flags works in our favor today.

Right but the article linked focuses on what Blakemen's responsibilities are which are primarily the line of scrimmage. He tends to call a lot more roughing the passer than Vinovich who has the NO game. He also tends to call more offensive holding.

It's not obtuse to point out a ridiculous statement. Saying, "If the Pats are behind 14, they can not come back," is as ridiculous as saying, "I'm hearing vaccines cause autism, so I wouldn't use them for my family. I just think that's safer."

It's not true and it's not accurate. Do you know how I know it's not accurate? Because there is a greater than 0% chance the Pats could win today despite falling down by 10. It will make things more difficult, and they are on the road, but it's certainly possible. The Pats, should they fall down by 14, aren't going to walk off the field.

And I'm glad they won't, because they have come back from double digit deficits before in some of the biggest games of the season over the past few years.

I can't see a NE blowout. I think of a sliding scale. Most games, it's around a 31 point window - the Pats could lose by 7 or win by 24. But this time, I think it's backwards. I could see the Pats winning a close one, or getting blown out. But I can't really see the Pats winning in a blowout.

Well that’s fine, but you’re changing his statement. He didn’t say they cannot come back. He said he doesn’t think they could. We deal with probabilities here; nothing is 100, nothing is zero. In his mind, coming back from two scores down is closer to the latter than the former. He is probably right.

I could see either team winning in a blowout. The sample size of drives in an NFL game is small and these are both good teams.

I could envision a scenario in which the Patriots can't stop the Chiefs offense while the Patriots have a couple of sputtered drives or a turnover and suddenly it's 24-7 KC.

But I can also see the Patriots offense rolling almost as well as they did last week while the Chiefs have a couple of drives sputter and a turnover and suddenly it's 24-7 Patriots.

I don't really expect either defense to rise to the occasion and flat out win their side of the ball but if I had to bet on one of them I'll take the Patriots D, even with their crappy road performances. Except for the Colts shitshow last week the Chiefs have basically given up 450+ yards to every decent team they've played this year.

Because its rigged for the Pats and I can prove it. Its all about numbers. I will open a new thread soon to show all of you. Do you really believe that an unathletic 41 year old can beat a highflying 23 year old Mahomes with one of the best offences of all time in his own house without something else going on? Brady went 9-4 in AFCCG. 41st president died this season aged 94 and Brady is 41 years old. Foles was born the same day the 41st president was inaugurated and he won SB52 with 41 points the same year he died.
