Jameis Winston's press conference was maybe the only this as impressive as his game. He's pretty comfortable

Skip to 2:50, he's legitimately funny

South Carolina used to be in the ACC, we'll claim them too as long as Georgia Tech doesn't have to play them.

Undefeated Duke's national championship hopes are dashed following star QB Boone's broken collarbone.

Jameis Winston is 40 for 45 passing in his first to games.

Yep, and I think at least a couple of those incompletions are passes he threw away.

With their defense, if he plays like this, FSU is legitimately in the conversation for the National Championship.

They are in the hunt for sure,  but we will see next month what happens when they move into the real part of the schedule.   The next 2 games are against BC's (Bethune Cookman and Boston College), so those should be 4+ TD victories.  Then they get Clemson and Miami with that potential sneaky letdown game against NCSt in the middle.

Duke Johnson broke his ankle. Done for the season. I think this might make it tough for Miami to make it to the ACCCG

Not good for FSU who definitely needed a 11-1 Miami team on the other side of the ACC championship game.  Even though we know Miami just isn't that good, it would have helped in the polls and especially computer rankings. As they would have been top 10 at that point

Now they could end up with a 3 or 4 loss VT or GT team who both suck and won't even be top 25

Actually,  given the big ball of suck Miami has left on their schedule there is a pretty good chance they still get to the ACC title game at 11-1 (At Pitt  Thanksgiving Weekend could be tough weather)

The ACC is really crappy this year.  FSU is awesome, Clemson is good when they get on a roll.  Miami is decent,  and then an epic pile of shit

Mike, hasn't it been like that in one formation or another for almost 10 years now? Having said that, the B1G is bowl of poop too. They have 1 legit team, 1 or 2 OK teams and 9-10 meh teams who are probably not much better than the ACC. The ACC is an awesome basketball conferencne with a very pedestrian, to poor football league attached to it.

IMHO, the two best conference are the SEC and this year, the Pac 12.

I actually think the SEC is pretty weak this year too.  It's still probably the strongest league, but nowhere near as good as it has been in recent years.  In general, outside of the top 3 teams (Alabama, Oregon, FSU), I think it's a pretty weak year for college football in general.  Some other teams that are decent, but it just doesn't seem as strong as years past.  Or maybe I'm just starting to get old and nostalgic already.

The PAC 12 plays a 9 game schedule and as part of their deal the Cal schools all play one another each year. I think Gross is on to something. If they had one designated rival (ex. BC-Syr, Va-VT) and rotated the rest as a balanced schedule rotating a 2 in 3 year format you would play everyone at least once every 3 years. Now it is really like 2 separate leagues in that you see say BC play UNC in 2013 and then not again for 4 or 5 years. It's more like an OOC opponent that you schedule every few years. Not much of a conference continuity when you think about it.
