FWIW, PawSox pitchers for the rest of the series:

Game 2 (9/10 at McCoy) - Brian Johnson
Game 3 (9/11 at Durham) - Henry Owens
Game 4 (9/12 at Durham) - Eduardo Rodriguez
Game 5 (9/13 at Durham) - TBA (presumably Keith Couch)

Man, even without Barnes those top three plus Escobar at the front sets up as a murderer's row of starters. Hopefully they all perform to their capabilities and the offense gives them plenty of breathing room.

The PawSox still need to remove a player from the 25-man active roster to fit both Johnson & Rodriguez, but nothing on that yet. Presumably Jose Valdez gets re-assigned or placed on the TIA.

Bingo. He's now on the Portland roster. Ditto for IF Mike McCoy, creating a spot for Rusney Castillo. Hopefully both get to remain with the PawSox as cheerleaders.

Two innings completed, two runs for the PawSox. Shaw singles in De Jesus in the 1st, and Marrero just singled in Swihart after his double in the 2nd.

Bulls starter Enny Romero is already up to 51 pitches, but has struck out Rusney Castillo twice.

Great start for Escobar so far, with just 28 pitches (19 strikes), 1 H, 0 BB and 3 K.

EDIT - Durham ties it with a pair in the t-3rd on three singles. Despite that, only 15 pitches for Escobar in that frame.

PawSox regained the lead on a Cecchini SF, scoring Lavarnway in the b-3rd. Still a 3-2 game heading to the t-7th. Old friend Doug Mathis (PawSox Class of 2012) has thrown the last three innings for the Bulls, keeping his former mates scoreless on just a hit (Castillo single) with 4 K.

Escobar's has been solid: 6 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 0 BB, 4 K, and 59 of 83 pitches for strikes.

EDIT - He's done after 7 IP. Added a 5th K, finished with a 70/101 strike/pitch count. Hinojosa on.

EDIT - Well, that was a dicey 8th inning. After a 1-out walk, Hinojosa got Mikie Mahtook swinging. Then Boles brought on the lefty Verdugo to face LHH cleanup hitter Jeremy Moore (2/3 tonight) and walked him. But Hembree came in for the rescue with a swinging K to end it.

EDIT - Bloop single to LF, walk, and another single have loaded the bases for Durham in the t-9th. One out.
