Here is the update on the Drive.

Asheville has an overall record of 72-66. They will be playing Greensboro at 2:05pm.
Greenville has an overall record of 72-67. They will be playing Savannah at 2:05pm.

If the Drive lose, they are done. If Asheville wins, the Drive are done.

If Asheville loses and the Drive win, the Drive are playoff bound.

In any case, the ending is going to result in 1972 AL East crappy ending as the Drive will have played one more game than the Tourists.

Season complete. Greenville can't overcome the Gnats. On to the AFL and let's win there.
Ah, well. Crud.

I can't help but think the second half would have gone much differently if Kopech hadn't gotten suspended.

Here's to looking forward to next season!

Can we make up for some of this lost time and development by sending him to the AFL?

Margot ends the seaosn on a tear! With 3 centerfielders already in Boston plus a fast rising Benintendi, I can't help but think of Margot as valuable trade bait, and this late season surge increases his value

In a bitter twist, Asheville lost as well. So, it does go down as a 1972esque loss, with the Drive losing out on a playoff spot due to playing one more game.

Thank you to Cuzitt for another stellar season of MiLB Sox coverage.

When the Sox make a call-up, it's like we've been following them for years, and we have because of your commitment to the MiLB Gameday ritual.

What?
Is this where we're doing this this year? No standalone thank you Cuzittt thread?

Thank you Cuzittt, sincerely. You provide so much info, and the context to turn that info into enjoyment. I appreciate it so, so, so much.

A tip of the virtual 40 to jonasi, and also to mabrowndog who also used to do such amazing work in this forum.

Hope it's not too bad form to reply to my own post, but as an extension of this, Kopech is indeed headed to the AFL this fall. Espinoza is as well, which makes me wonder if he's the youngest AFL player ever?!
