I don’t know if you just turn it on and off.
You really think it’s impossible for the A’s to win one game in NY? Those games are complete coin flips.
3-7 against AL playoff teams in September.
The Yankees were missing Judge, Sanchez and Happ for the August series. Cutch wasn't there yet.
In games that matter: the Celtics are looking pretty good.
Billy Beane is 1-13 when his team has a chance to eliminate the opponent in the playoffs.
1-2 in 3 pretty close games against Houston
1-2 against Cleveland in a complete exhibition series, went to extras in both losses anyways
1-2 against the Yankees when game 1 was a C lineup from us, some Yankee stadium bullshit in game 2
0-1 so far when putting out the worst bullpen pieces we have after Johnson
but OK, let's build up the narrative again
Not really. NY is 53-28 at home. A’s flying cross country. Yankees are healthy now and playing well. I’d give Oakland a 25% of winning thst game.
I said it a while ago but i still am not sold on the idea of heading into the playoffs with a bunch of rested players and zero momentum. Psychologically the team must be a million miles away from where we were before he started sitting everyone. Granted, they aren't tired I suppose.
cross country with 2 days off to adjust. 25%? come on.
Well that's the risk, but they are only human.
We dont match up well against the Yankees with our LH heavy SPIng, low velocity Sale, sub Par Porcello, post season Price, crappy Pen. Have to hope A's win the WC game I guess but that says a lot about our confidence after 107 wins. Jesus
And screw the Bruins promo during a Yankee game you NESN jerks
I'm not even a hockey fan, but this is a lot more fun than the game even for me.
that was weak JD
It says a lot about your confidence. Most of us take this game for what it is, meaningless.
If they come out flat in the ALDS, Cora is going to receive a lot of criticism for his managing leading up to the playoffs. It's an unorthodox strategy that better work.
Well one of those "they"s are getting beaten.
Why does Bogaerts struggles against lefties?
I think its time to tank...
the season is lost
So is the plan to just play like crap until next week assuming they will be good?
Losing in 5 to these fuckers is gong to piss me the hell off.
And if they don’t come out flat, Nobel Prize?
We dont know who our "opponent will be.
Anything can happen in a one game playoff. Anything.
The man's genius cannot be questioned again.
Hembree in the mix with Pom, Johnson and Cuevas doesn’t sound good for him.
they should help to shorten the time until Opening Day
of course now Pom looks useful, a bit too late.
Every team in pre-season mode, including the Patriots.
Drew “the Answer” Pomeranz.
ok Cora, we once again found out Swihart struggles against LHPs. thanks.
The A’s have an incredibly deep bullpen to go 3-6 outs at a time. If Fiers gives them 3-4 good innings it’s a toss up.
Rodney and Familia in the cauldron of Yankee Stadium in October?
Good luck with that, Oakland!
wow JD vs Happ has been noncompetitive tonight
Meaningless game or not, the offense has been pathetic tonight.
We all know the A’s aren’t beating the Yankees in a one game playoff.
it's cute Happ throws inside suddenly.
Echoing this sentiment.... I know this game means nothing, but it pisses me off to see them getting absolutely manhandled by the Yankees.
Like Sale, they are teasing everyone.
That’s what I’m talking about.
And Petit, Buchner, Kelley and Treinen for 6 outs probably. It’s loaded.
A meaningless thrill!
Classic Red Sox.
another slam against Happ, there goes the QS.
Hmmmmm. Okay, so it has my attention again. Pearce lasered that shot.
5 of his 6 HR against the Yankees
Its a ball game again if we can hold them
Not ova yet!
you don't know what you'll get from Devers day to day right now.

Pearce 11 of 33 vs. Happ, 6 HRs.
Steve Pearce is a Happ y camper
Might need to bat Pearce 3rd against Happ.
