Sanchez with a good AB that ends with a walk. He is hitting .172 vs. RHP this season, per the ESPN graphic.

Torres doubles high off the LCF wall, drives in two. Probably an out in YS.

This is where instant replay distorts the game.

I don't care, I'll deal with it...anything that eliminates as much of the damn fat stupid assholes in black from the game

Cora is bullpenning this game yet he's going to review a play at the plate. Is he trying to win, or just testing his replay chops for the playoffs?

Torres ruled out, then safe at home as Swihart drops the throw. 5-0.

He might have made it not so close a play if he doesn't reach up to keep his helmet on...wtf ?

Hicks homers into the bullpen. 8-0. This is off Velasquez. ESPN announcers talking about the Yankees hitters getting off. These are not big league pitchers they are seeing tonight.

Happ up to 95 to get Kinsler, not sure I've seen that before from him this year.

Didi looks pretty normal in the field and at the plate. No wincing, or short swings. But as Eddie Perez said, let's see how he feels tomorrow.

His stuff seemed very alive tonight. If Hicks doesn't misplay Benny's line drive, he gets out of the sixth without a run on the board.

Luke goes deep into the bullpen in RCF. No. 263! That might have been out of Yankee Stadium!

Cora bringing in Joe Kelly with two on and one out in the 7th. Always good to see Mr. Kelly.

Bogey boots a DP grounder by Sanchez that was a rocket coming off the bat.

Judge gets his first HR since his return, #264 for the team.

Looks like Boone can play the scrubs over the weekend. Maybe Sheffield will get some innings.

Crazy that it takes 99 wins to clinch a home game in the coin flip game, NY hosted it last year with 91 wins.

The only thing lacking here is the passed ball.

Miggy took four baby steps before getting rid of the ball on that failed DP effort.

No hits for Boston that inning, Britton needs guys to make plays behind him.

Miggy is a playoff time bomb. Every time the fall us hit his way, I am popping a nitro pill. I can frog one in my mouth before he throws the damn ball. Supreme Court justices are confirmed built quicker than it takes Miggy to get the ball across the diamond.

Yes, that was awful. Didi's error was similar to Bogey's. Both balls were hard hit and bounced a little higher. You play the carom and hope it stays close.

Too bad it's probably not possible to get Derek Jeter to throw out the first pitch of the coin flip game, get Posada in there too and make it a running sidearm flip from the first base line.

I mean, this is from 2014, 13 years after it happened, so traumatic for that organization:

" the A's have opted to skip past the flip play when they roll their own video tribute to Jeter on Sunday. As A's vice president of sales and marketing Jim Leahey told the San Francisco Chronicle, the Coliseum video has "conspicuously eliminated all references to that play.""

Mike Fiers getting hammered by the Angels right now, that makes things more interesting for them. Maybe they will do a full bullpen game after all, or try to get 3-4 innings from Edwin Inexplicable Jackson.

I don't see how the A's now have a rotation to beat a playoff team in any series, so I know who I'll be rooting for on Wed night.

Trevor Cahill in OAK is a good option if he is healthy. He has hilarious home/road split ERAs of 1.84/7.02.

    Sitting Judge/Sanchez/Voit today:

    Gardner LF
    McCutchen RF
    Hicks CF
    Stanton DH
    Gregorius SS
    Andujar 3B
    Bird 1B
    Romine C
    Torres 2B

And Domingo German is starting instead of Lynn, Lynn will come it out of the pen as he'll do if he gets into any postseason games.

Meaningless games or not, it still feels good to see the Yankees playing well. This is not the same team who was injured and bored for 2 months in the summer.

yes let's be fair: Luke compensates with energy, hitting and overall general good fielding...the only thing Bird does well any more is...get injured
