Wendle is tough. Takes a big swing for strike one after getting dusted. And then he pops out. Wendle is a good looking young hitter.

Stanton is 0-3 with an infield popout with two on and one out, a GIDP with bases loaded and one out and has seen 12 pitches.

He is irritating the shit out of me lately.

Cash was so impressed that his latest reliever retired Voit and Stanton, he went to the bullpen again. It's Vidal Nuno!

Nuno hits Walker on the shin. Here comes Cash again. One pitch!

Robertson is on the back nine of his career. Maybe the 17th hole. One run in. Then another PB for Gary. Guy on third.
Walk, double, PB. How can I stand this crap?
Most likely outcome to this season is one and done.

Safety squeeze. Ah, the humiliation. The horror.

This is apparently Robertson's first bad performance in eons. Sucks it came here, but better than Wednesday.

Huh. Sheffield. Sure would've rather seen him than Cole the other night.

Just another day off the calendar. Yanks weren't going to score in ninth. They did not score in 2 thru 8.
At least tomorrow is a day game. I will follow on the golf course. Less painful than television.

I mean, if you have the luxury of having the highest payroll in baseball or buying your way out of all your bad decisions, that’s great. If not, you have to be clever. The way they handle their pitching may not be pretty, but it’s elegant—they spend nothing and are at or near the top of the league in almost every pitching category. To me, that’s beautiful.

Assume you are sniping at the Red Sox here. Yanks are 7th in payroll.

I agree it is annoying that the Red Sox buy their way to division titles.

I personally like the Rays trying different things. The Yankees should just beat them if they are frustrated.

Robby gave up two runs against the Twins on 9/12 and one run against the Orioles just five days ago while retiring just one batter.

Well, they are beating them. Two out of three in this series. Maybe three of four. You can't win every game in this sport.

RAB had some post that said he'd been nails in the second half. Guess that was wrong.

Anyway, he is the reliever I trust the least.

Also it's not like they're the Twins and trying to do it with control guys who top out at 92, they seemingly roll out guy after guy who hits 98, from both sides.

Also, the Yankees are not frustrated by losing. Fans like me are. Players play 190 games a year. You would be surprised how little they care about outcomes of meaningless games.

I look forward to the Yankees having the tying run on base and Stanton either striking out looking or popping out on the first pitch to end it.

The payroll stuff will never stop being funny, we have I believe maybe two more months to use that one before Cashman starts getting back to Yankee tradition.

    Tying run at the plate.

    Is Cash out of relievers?

    I love that joke.

Seriously though, if the Sox win it all it should have an asterisk since they just bought the title.

Sale and Kimbrel were traded for, Mookie, Bogaerts, Bradley, and Benintendi were drafted

Voit just missed tying the game. Shiner got what he wanted. Stanton up. Voit had to go back to first because Judge held up.
Stanton grounds to third but the Rays screw it up. Andujaresque!

Andujar up. And he pops to third on first pitch.

    Seven runs and they lose.

First fucking pitch. Guy has thrown 40 pitches and has been wild and you swing at the first pitch.

Was Wade's fly ball deep enough to score a runner from third?

Of course. The Sox bought the east and you cheap bastards could only afford a play-in game spot.

Next year, though, the Yanks will be back at #1 and the Sox will be #2 and that will make it all the more epic when the lowly Rays snatch the division title away.

You guys are too hard on this Yankees team. I’m in full ‘Go A’s’ mode. I want no part of NY in a five game series.

It would be good for the sport if the Rays win it all in 2019. Call the book "AggravatingBall."

In all that confusion, I didn't realize Voit somehow only got to first on his ball to the wall where the outfielder fell down. How is that even possible? Did he fall down also in empathy? I need to watch that again, that cost them the tie (maybe, it would have taken a good throw at least to stop him from scoring). I didn't get your point before, Shiner, sorry...
