the Yankees are a fine team. but they really play down to competition, whereas when we've been right we've crushed whoever we play.
time to finish this off.
Good video, good song. Now for a good win (not that there was ever a bad win). Everyone stay healthy too.
If we sweep all 6 against them and the Rays win a bunch, they will take over the Yankees.
The Rays and Yankees also have a four-game series next week. The Rays' other nine games left are all against the Rangers and Blue Jays.
More. Very underrated Pink Floyd album. Some kickass tunes on this one.
I'm not sure I would want that. The Rays are piping hot right now. The Yankees? Their manager seems like a nitwit to me and they are playing below .500 ball over the last 20 or so, and losing to checked out teams.
It's not raining in NJ right now, FWIW.
I'm going to the game Thursday night. I would love to see the Sox clinch in person. I can't root for Yankees wins the next two days, right? I know, I know, I just can't, but having missed Game 7 in 2004, I really want to see the Sox dance on that soulless monument to shit. Maybe if today gets rained out and Evoldi is pushed to Wednesday? I know, I know...high class, pseudo dilemma.
"Any number is fine with me, as long as it's more."
The game was just pushed back to 7:05 due to the weather.
but the Jewish fans and Yom Kippur! what a shame.
As a Jew who has tickets to this game......I'll still be happy with a 7:05 start. And then I can just apologize tomorrow right? isn't that how it works?
But, how come I don't see this announcement anywhere?
Yeah, I was wondering if we needed to specify "more runs" or "more wins," so that the Weather Goddesses didn't think we meant "more rain." (We have gotten 2.5" here in WMA overnight and this morning.)
Okay....Now I buy it.
I think you need to throw in something about major guilt from your mother as well.
Yeah I heard it on the radio driving in to work.
As long as you don't eat, I wonder if they'll sell a lot less food, or if people religious enough to fast will sell or give their tickets away, I don't even remember if we're supposed to go to temple the night of, or the next day.
They will, I reckon. It’s a time to fast, but also to reflect and atone so I think a lot of folks would likely give up/sell their tickets.
If they reflect and atone fast enough, they can probably still make it to the game.
Is the Atone Phone still in operation?
Happ has been great. The Sox will likely see him twice in the division series if Tanaka starts the playoff game. This is a semi-important game for the offense for that reason. Gotta hit him.
I realize the Rays are terrifying. But since I'm making bold claims, the Rays will lose the wild card play in.
It just started pouring down rain in Brooklyn, with the forecast showing it should stop around 5pm.
OK, that's funny. Almost as funny as thinking that confessing your sins to a guy in a dark phone booth makes you good again.
As a lapsed Jew, I asked a practicing friend what she thought about the game. She thought not eating and going to a service tomorrow would satisfy. Anyway, you have all of tomorrow to think about your sins while you try not to think about how hungry you are.
Sure, but I’d say it’s just as likely we get Oakland.
That bullpen will be a terror in a one game take all.
Those sisters of mercy don’t look anything like the ones that taught me in grade school, to get a little Catholic side talk here.
Well, hearing the phrase "Sisters of Mercy" got me digging into the Leonard Cohen, so maybe it all comes around.
I can still see Embree’s left handed uppercut fist pump like it was yesterday.
Hats and t-shirts tonight.
Tomorrow’s game, maybe. The holiday actually begins at sundown tonight.
If it's raining as hard in the Bronx as it is in Herald Square right now, the toilet will be filling up to overflowing by 5pm.
Hopefully Pearce is in the lineup tonight, 5 homers off Happ.
Time to take care of business
Pretty good lineup; missing everyone’s favorite lead pipe candidate though.
Happ? That means I get to post this:
Who’s the stumblebutt almost falling down on the way to first?
That's really when he tweaked his blateral oblique.
Cora taking no chances in the rain, I presume. We speculated Betts would get full rest but this is still out there.

#RedSox: vs. NYY: Kinsler 2B, Pearce 1B, Martinez RF, Bogaerts SS, Núñez DH, Phillips 3B, Holt LF, Vázquez C, Bradley Jr. CF, and Eovaldi RHP.
Worked against the Blue Jays last week.
As much as a 103 win team can be on the wrong side, I guess, although Happ is not exactly Kershaw. He blows hot and cold. Last 2 outings of his were excellent. Eovaldi? Who knows.
That’s a ‘wait for tomorrow to clinch’ lineup.
OK. That's an interesting and unique lineup. I'll be surprised if we ever see this exact configuration again.
Brockstar is in the lineup. They're going for their throats.
Brandon Phillips will get the magic number to 0.
