You’re all heart. We play the Yankees and you give us raucous, rowdy, rabid rants. Mets? You throw one over the fence. Here. That’s OK. Conservation of words. It all averages out.

Rick needs to best Patton Oswalt’s cousin today. Get the offense going again. Mookie hits #30.

I hate the Mets the same way I hate foie gras. That is, I don’t even know if I actually hate them, I just think that I do. For a team that gave me my second worst sports moment, you would think that I could surely work up something stronger but I can’t.

So, I guess, fuck you Mets. I fucking hate you because I should hate you more but don’t.

And fuck the Yankees. In the ear.

I have lots of friends that are Mets fans. I appreciate that they are not Yankee fans, and on most cases also hate the Yankees. (Though those who root for the Mets AND Yankees belong in the lowest part of hell.)

I really like the Mets broadcasts. Thorne/Darling/Hernandez are funny and always tell me stuff I didn’t know. The production is good too.

Shea Stadium sucked in every way possible, but Citi Field is pretty nice. Excellent food, comfortable seats, broad concourses, and the Jackie Robinson tribute is great.

David Wright seems like a good guy.

But I was at Shea for games 6 and 7 in 1986, and I have rarely been unhappier. If there was a more unlikeable team, top to bottom, than the 1986 Mets, I have yet to meet them. (And no, not yheYankees, who always at least had Mariano.)

    So fuck the Mets.

It's a little disappointing that Porcello's starting against an NL team and not getting to hit. Why don't they let him hit more when he's been the best hitter on the team?

This is a baseball rule that I don't know, and I feel stupid about it, but could we use the DH for Sandy and let Rick swing?

I know we wont, risking injury and all that. But it would be cool.

The DH is optional, AFAIK. They could forgo it if they wanted.

They're the Metropolitan's, to be more concise.
Who the hell do they think they are?
    Five syllables, five.
Heir Trump doesn't even know that many.
They're from Queens too, fuck em.

You can only use it on the pitcher I believe. It’s stupid.

Ed it would make sense to be able to use the DH in someone else when Ohtani is pitching.

    Oswalt has a reverse split. OPS .908 v RHH; .728 v LHH.

Edit, not a lot of data on the guy, with just 14 game appearances and 53 IP.

I would appreciate it if the Sox could beat the Mets like the red-headed stepchildren they are today.

    That is all.

If you don't check spell check, who will?
Spell check is a shuck, in my opinion. It only comes into play on my phone, where mistyping is common, and I spend as much time fixing what spellcheck "fixed" than posting.

The Mets broadcast, for those with access, has Cohen with Keith Hernandez, but today lacks Ron Darling, who is, for me, the best of that bunch.

OK if the Mets want to enjoy being spoilers with better baseball than they have played so far, but plunking star players is not on. I'm happy to see the error. Don't get ahead of yourselves, Metropolitans.
