It's no homer September for the Red Sox.

So far (10 plus games) no homers for Mookie, Beni, Moreland, or the catchers. Jackie, Kinsler and Nunez all have one each, but they were in the same game on September 1. Xander and JD have 2 each.

Maybe he can throw the pitches from Center field and we won't need anyone on the mound! That might be slightly rough on the arm though. :p

Been getting shut down by garbage starters all week so no surprise they can't do anything vs Syndergaard

Well, they were only one down when they brought Scott in.

And to whoever noted later on that Wright has pitched limited innings since coming back, doesn't he need to be stretched out to longer appearances pretty soon?

I doubt he'll be more than a 2 inning pitcher in the playoffs

No, no they're determined to punt this. That's OK. Use all the riff raff in one game and rest everyone else. We we're due. Thor is pitching and he's dealing. Let it go.

In Mookie's at bat he let the inside fastball go by for a strike, he used to drive that pitch out of the park.

Gomes says, "You can't ruin my day." I wonder if he ever considers what he does to other peoples' days?

the worst thing about this game is that I think we still win if Robby Scott didn't insert his epic suck in. would be 2-0 at the worst and at least 2 innings of their pen.

Completely agree with this. 10D has been pretty pathetic at the plate recently.

With unequivocal first place in the AL, you can tolerate these games. By the way Synde is at 100 pitches, so maybe we can hope for another big comeback.

Even in a low lev situation, the latest 8th inning guy fails.

That hit his shirt, should have been a HBP and a dead ball.

Though I suppose the Mets will take the HR.
Jackson probably knew it hit his shirt and figured he'd take his chance against Thornburg.

Thornburg is terrible as well joining a long list of bullpen failures.

Low lev situations are the only kind of situations Thornburg will get and this is the only 8th inning work he'll see.

None of these pitchers are pitching in the post-season.

I would like to see an uptick in the offense.

Mookie needs to get his power stroke back.

A pity Thornburg has failed, I always thought he could be the 8th inning guy. Cora should forget about other guys and begin to use Eovaldi and Poyner in high leverage situations.

Pearce was a great pickup for that one Yankee series but he’s been Hanley bad since then.
