Me three. Especially in seasons where the major league team struggles, this section of the Board is just invaluable. Brandon makes following the Red Sox minor leaguers as easy for all of us as possible, and it is a great service he provides.

De Jesus with a SF scoring Castillo, who had a ground rule double. 2-0 Pawsox.  Top of 3rd.

2-0 Pawsox in the 3rd. Castillo ground-rule double to right center. He got picked off 2nd, but was safe at 3rd in the rundown - good wheels and heads-up instincts (except for getting picked off). Scored on a sac fly.

Pretty much a self-made (and rescued) run. I love this guy already.

Could've been a big inning there but Hassan whiffed to leave the bases loaded.

Couch is now through 3 scoreless with a single, HBP and K. 46 pitches, 29 strikes. How awesome would it be for a stud outing by this guy to be what seals the deal after all the hype on Escobar/Johnson/Owens/Rodriguez?

Rarely post anything but this part of the board is one I visit the most and spend the most time on.  Love following all of our prospects.  Thanks for everything!

Another double for Rusney in the t-4th, and he moves to 3B on a WP. But Shaw whiffs to strand him.

Lavarnway leads off the 5th with a homer to left. 3-0 PawSox.

Sweet.

And Couch had another 1-2-3 inning on 16 pitches (10 strikes). Now with 2 K, 7 groundouts, still just the lone hit.

I have to admit that when I saw that Couch was pitching the clincher, my thought was that we're fucked.  This is pretty awesome so far.

Couch in a zone. 72 & 45 now on pitches.

Durham starter Merrill Kelly was at 93 pitches through his 5, so he might be done.

2-out walk for Couch b-6th breaks his string of 12 straight batters retired. But he gets Mahtook looking to end it.

4 Ks now, and another 10 outs on the ground. 87 P, 54 S.

Done after a 2-out walk b-7th. 1 H, 2 BB, 4 K, HBP, WP, 99 P, 59 S.

Celestino allows a single to his first batter, 1st & 3rd. The pen better not blow this.

Presumably to get Betemit looking? Can you describe for those of us not watching?
Sorry. Just started watching myself. Yes, Betemit caught looking on a fastball that tailed back to the inside corner. Mildly reminiscent of Derek Lowe in the 2003 ALDS clincher.

Side retired. Soft liner to second. Three outs to go. Durham announcers are remarkably even handed, as were the Pawsox radio announcers when I was listening earlier. It has been nice to hear baseball and not announcer ego.

So this affiliate sends its ENTIRE starting rotation to the majors (Barnes, Webster, RDLR, Ranaudo & Wright) plus its top two LHRPs (Layne, Britton), an RHRP (Wilson), two catchers (Vazquez & Butler), a Swiss Army Knife (Rivero), and some kid named Mookie Betts.

And they STILL win the International League crown.

Incredible. Congrats to Kevin Boles, his coaches, and the entire Red Sox player development staff.
