cross posted from the 9/9 thread:

3658 in attendance at McCoy last night.  I'm going tonight, should be easy to get parking, great seats, and to see Brian Johnson make his AAA debut.  And Rusney!

PawSox up 3-2 after 6. Lavarnway groundout scored Rusney Castillo (single) in the 1st, then Corey Brown homered with DeJesus aboard in the second. Brian Johnson went 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on a 3rd inning 2-run shot by Mikie Mahtook. 4 hits and 3 walks for Johnson to go along with 7 Ks as he threw 58 of 95 pitches for strikes.

Celestino sets the Bulls down in order in the top of the 7th with 2 Ks and a liner to Marrero.
PawSox go 1-2-3 as well: a Castillo grounder to short, a Justin Henry fly out to left, and a Brentz groundout to the pitcher.

Brown doubles to center on a liner that CF Justin Christian almost caught on a diving try. Marrero sacrifices him to 3rd.
Rusney pops up to shallow right - no chance for Brown to try to score. Two outs for Justin Henry.
Henry grounds out 1b to pitcher. Going to 10.

It really looked like Pawtucket got a gift on that double play call in the top of the ninth. The batter looked like he was easily safe at first.

Rusney's night is over. Hassan comes in for him playing right, with Brown moving to center.
John Ely in. Walks Justin Christian on five pitches. Figueroa sacrifices him to 2nd. Mahtook grounds out to short, Christian holding at 2nd. Ely intentionally walks Jeremy Moore, then strikes out Tim Beckham on a questionable (according to Bulls radio guy) check swing one pitch after lining one just foul to left.
PawSox have Brentz (0-3 with a walk), Shaw (0-4 with 4 Ks) and Lavarnway (2-4) coming up in the bottom of the 10th.

Does Castillo have a 10:30 curfew or something? Why was he removed?
Gotta figure an innings limit. I read earlier that he's supposed to get the day off tomorrow. They're handling him pretty carefully (which seems weird to me, but I guess he hasn't played in a couple years).

He should be well rested then.

Catcher's interference puts Solis on. Fontenot follows with an rbi single to right. Then Christian lines one off Verdugo's back, which Marrero fields and gets the out at first. 2nd and 3rd with 2 out.

PawSox lose 4-3, scoring all three in the first two innings off Bulls starter Alex Colume (who was replaced after recording just 4 outs) then being shut out by the Bulls pen for 9.2 innings.
Brian Johnson went 6 full, throwing 58 of 95 pitches for strikes, giving up 4 hits (including a 2-run homer) and 3 walks to go with 7 Ks. Celestino went 2 hit-less/walk-less innings with 3 Ks; he threw 26 pitches, 16 for strikes. Hembree blew the save in the 9th, going 0.1 inning, giving up the game-tying homer and a single with 1 K; 10 of his 15 pitches were strikes. Hernandez went 0.2, giving up a walk and getting a double-play grounder; 8 pitches, 3 strikes. Ely went 1.1 with 3 BBs and 2 Ks and being charged with the game-losing run (unearned because of the catcher's interference call); he threw only 14 strikes in 33 pitches. Verdugo went 0.2 with 1 hit and 1 K; 12 strikes on 15 pitches.

Castillo (single) and DeJesus (triple) were both 1-4 with a walk and a run. Brentz and Shaw were 0-5, Brentz with a walk and 2 Ks, Shaw with 4 Ks. Justin Henry was 0-3 with 3 walks; Lavarnway 2-4 with a walk and rbi; Cecchini 1-5 with a K; Brown 3-5 with a double and home run, 2 rbis and a K; Marrero 1-4 with 2 Ks and a sacrifice; Hassan (coming in for Castillo in the 10th) 0-1.
