I keep having trouble matching up this team's winning percentage with what I watch every night on television. Maybe I do not understand how decent starting pitching and mostly good bullpen work can sway outcomes, more so than a mediocre offense populated by several game-changers.

and I'll take issue with any contention that we now have 'decent starting pitching', tonight excepted

FWIW, the offense has somehow been around the same with Judge out, the pitching has indeed been ‘unpredictable’ (good word).

winning tonight was predicated on Happ shutting them down while we struggle to score anything...if Happ doesn't have it...it's going to be an ugly evening

The Tigers 6-9 is as bad as it gets. .203, .220, .202, and a kid making his ML debut.

Happ is gonna throw a complete game.

Our rotation has no aces whatever, but we have a surfeit of jokers

Nobody saw Gleyber as a power hitter right away. Maybe in a few years. Not at 21.

The Tigers certainly get a lot of infield hits.

Moose opines 'If you can keep doing that late in games, like I used to, perhaps I shall reconsider my opinion...."

Well, I missed that. I was putting my son to bed. This game has really gone back and forth.

It's really impressive, he doesn't seem to get cheapies either.

So much for my plan to use Betances as the closer the rest of the way, sorry Aaron. I will trade that loss for Andrew McCutchen though, excited about that.
