I was listening to the game last night while working on a drawing and turned it off after the Barnes meltdown. What the flipping fuck was that shit? And while I kept on checking the box score and saw a comeback... then a fucking meltdown from Kimbrel... then a sloppy ass win...it was a win that I can't be happy with! WTF is that shit? Fuck that! It's still a win. But holy shit that had all sorts of flags all over the place! We can't get EdRod and Sale back too soon... maybe Eovaldi and Pomeranz will turn into bullpen saviors? Who the fuck knows..... but we won yesterday and we need to keep doing that.. but in a much better way. Like as in.... good starting pitching for 6 innings... good bullpen pitching for 3....good disciplined hitting..... good smart baseball... and homeruns!!!!
No more of this fucking shit. 6.5 games is too fucking close! Fuck the fucking Yankees!!!! Win this shit!!!!!

Going to the game tonight with the Wife. First trip to Fenway this season.

David Price, appointment viewing. Almost unbelievably.

I'll be there for the second time this year (saw an easy W back on June 5). But tonight is special because it is my six year old son's first ever trip to Fenway. Technically it his his 2nd ever MLB game since we took him to a Rockies game when he was like one, but I don't really count that.

I’d prefer 7 strong from our starters, though.

Oh yeah? Well I’d prefer a 85 pitch 9 inning shut out from our starters!

Last night, whenever I summoned up the courage to peek in during the eighth and ninth, NESN was showing Alex Cora looking concerned. No smiling whatsoever.

Somebody please put the smile back on that man's face! Maybe he can help himself, by acting sooner when one of the relievers has nothing. But, it's complicated. I get that, and still suspect that Cora's a genius. I don't imagine the Rays would let the Sox have Sergio Romo, would they?

Anyway, Geaux, Sox!!!!!!!! Don't make us turn off the game to protect our hearts! TIA.

If you're able to orchestrate it so that you come out into the park and lights for the first time through the tunnel behind field boxes 30 and 31, I would recommend it highly. I still remember doing that very thing with my dad when I was about 6 years old, and every time I go back that's the way I go in, no matter where I'm sitting. I think it's one of the most dramatic entries in sports.

My dad used to have season tickets in section 30 row 2 (gave em up a few years back) so this was my typical entry point. Luckily the seats tonight are right down in the lower boxes behind 3rd so it's also the entry I will be using tonight!

I am seeing that this game starts at 6:35. That seems like a nugget worth knowing, if true.

Enjoy! I will get my son and daughter to Fenway one day, but living on the west coast makes that challenging.

In the meantime, fuck Jeter, and hope the Sox can finish off this season sweep of the dregs like they're s'posed to.

    6:35 EDT.

And while we're at it, it's Daylight Saving Time, not Daylight Savings Time. I don't want to hear that mistake again from anyone.

    well, either/or

"Daylight saving time, also daylight savings time, also summer time, is the practice of advancing clocks during summer months so that evening daylight lasts longer, while sacrificing normal sunrise times"

    Fun stuff.

Tim, if you see this and would like EMC club passes (not for the seating area), let me know. Th trophies are in there and your son might enjoy. Reply here or PM me, if so.

Perfectly stated. If you can time it so you walk into that aisle between the Field and Loge Boxes like 3 seconds before the announcer guy begins, even better.

I guess they need that extra 35 minutes because the winds are blowing at Midway Airport or something. Or maybe metal detectors. Or to put on bullet-proof vests.

Does that guy with the Santa Claus beard still work there? (EMC security) He's the rudest mf'er in any premium/vip area I've ever encountered in any arena/ballpark.

Super generous TS. I think we are going to minimize time spent there though since this will be way past his bedtime, and it's Africa hot out

But is it air-conditioned in there? I wouldn't be outside by choice any time soon. Maybe take some ice packs, or will they let them in b/c they want your money for cooling beverages?

Yes, it is a/c, but just generally speaking arriving as close to first pitch as possible, methinks... though he does need a new Sox hat, ha

Has anyone noticed how much Nunez has picked up his contribution - both on offense and defense?

He is, and always has been, 10x better at third than at second. And now he is hitting. Maybe it's his time of year? Or, more likely, he's had more time to feel better about his legs?

My pleasure. If you change your mind or it’s too hot, I’m in the first row of section 16 and in a blue polo and a Red Red Sox hat. I have a few passes and can give them to you. Good place to escape the Africa!
