Playoff Games:

1 Game Semi-final in the GCL. Win or Go Home.

DSL Sox lead 1-0 in what I believe to be a best of 3 Semi-Finals series. Win and Move on!

Pawsox have a Magic Number of 3. They are 1 1/2 Games ahead of Buffalo for the IL Wild Card. They are 2 1/2 Games Behind their weekend opposition (Syracuse) for the Division Crown.

Salem has a Magic Number of 4. They are a Game Ahead of Carolina.

Lowell has a Tragic Number of 1. A Loss or a Brooklyn Win puts the Spinners out of the Playoffs.

The Binghamton Mets are selling EL playoff tickets for  next Wed. & Thurs. games here in Binghamton vs. Sea Dogs.  I'm given to understand the Mets need to win their remaining 3 games and the Sea Dogs have to lose their next 3 for this NOT to happen....Does that sound correct?

There are 4 games left in each team's regular season, not 3. Portland owns the tie-breaker over the Mets (12-9 head-to-head).

For Binghamton to gain home field in the series, they'd need to either:

1) Finish 4-0 while Portland loses at least 3 of their final 4, or
2) Finish 3-1 while Portland loses all 4.

Stellar outings from tonight's SPs for the most part:

PAW - Brandon Workman - 6.2 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 6 K
POR - Mike Augliera - 6.0 IP, 1 ER, 7 H, 0 BB, 4 K
SAL - Jake Dahlstrand - 6.0 IP, 4 ER, 6 H, 1 BB, 6 K
GVL - Teddy Stankiewicz - 7.0 IP, 1 ER, 5 H, 0 BB, 3 K
LOW - Aaron Wilkerson - 7.0 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 1 BB, 9 K

That's a combined 0.795 WHIP, 7.0 K/BB (28/4), and a 1.93 ERA.

FWIW Dahlstrand pitched 5 scoreless before running into trouble in the 6th (solo HR, RBI groundout). He was pulled in the 7th after the first two batters reached, and Kyle Martin was unable to keep them stranded.

Pawsox win puts their magic number at 2... and they may be able to clinch tomorrow. The competition (Buffalo and Rochester) are playing each other this weekend.

Salem's loss might leave them in a flat-footed tie with Carolina... Carolina is tied at 4 against Lynchburg as I type.

Brooklyn is losing entering the 9th, leaving Lowell still alive for the unlikely wild-card bid.

Connecticut wins in 11 innings to remain 1.5 games ahead of the Spinners. Brooklyn is 2.5 games up on Lowell.

Carolina loses in 11 innings to remain a game behind Salem, and dropping the Sox' magic number to 3.

Rochester beats Buffalo 3-2. A PawSox win or Buffalo loss eliminates the Bisons. Rochester passes Buffalo by a half-game in the wild card standings. Pawtucket's magic number over the Red Wings is 2, and they'll close out the regular season against each other with two games Sunday & Monday at McCoy.
