deGrom up to 80 pitches, have to keep working ABs and get him out of there.

Stanton has gotten a bunch of pitches to hit tonight, nothing so far.

that's a large part of Luis' problem, they are not chasing his stuff like Stanton just did, he's just not anywhere near as accurate as he was at the start of the season

I heard Castig the other day comment multiple times about how interesting it was that JD Martinez and Yeffry Ramirez shared the same last name.

Yeah, I think it's some combo of lack of fastball accuracy and batters picking up what he is throwing early.

I'm settling into acceptance....twist and turn but we will have nothing resembling a plausible rotation in the playoffs

The AJ Cole experiment is near an end, or should be anyway.

Get about 4 more and it may be an even match when it becomes a bullpen game.

The Mets and Knicks have the same front office strategy. Get former all stars 8 years past their prime

Keith is on his good behavior after ESPN threw him a bone. The subdued Olbie is a gem.

Pretty soon, the Yankees will have at whatever the Mets call a bullpen.

I guess keeping Cole in there gave the Mets an opening.

But can the Mets' bullpen hold a 4-run lead? Unclear.

No. Cole and Green continue to be relied on and they continue to get slammed. This is all Boone. He has no idea how or when to use them.

It's the 7th inning man. Are Robertson, Britton, Betances, and Chapman only allowed to pitch with a lead? Cole is absolute garbage. He doesn't belong on this roster. He had a great run for a few weeks and now he's exactly who he has been for entire career.

    "A.J. Cole’s last five outings: 8.64 ERA, 8.1 ip, 14 h, 11 r, 8 er, 5 bb, 13 k, four doubles, four homers."

They're letting DeGrom come out for the 7th with 104 pitches under his belt. Not exactly a vote of confidence in that pen.

the current Chapman in the 6th would have been a sight to behold and Britton is a 50/50 shot anywhere atm

Looks like DeGrom's Season high is 116 pitches. Maybe he will break that here.

They don’t have Familia any more, for one. A’s have been collecting relievers.

Mets may be on a mission to get Degrom the win so he draws even at 7 and 7. I thought they’d give him the third out there.

I don't think there is any way that pen gets through the bottom of the 8th unscathed. Best case scenario is they limit Stanton-Didi-Hicks-Andujar to 2 runs.

They had to pull him. It took him 114 pitches to get through 6 2/3.

Familia was gruesome in yesterday's A's v. LAA, gave up two runs in the eighth.

Any pitcher can have a rough game, you know, even CK. Familia’s ERA for Oakland is 1.64 over 9 games. Getting off topic here.

So many Red Sox fans on the Yankee game thread tonight. You would think this is a Red Sox board, or something.

The three prongs of Sox fans on the Yankee game thread:

    1) No Sox game
    2) Yankees getting their asses kicked
    3) Sox comfortably in 1st

    A perfect storm. :)

Speaking for myself, DeGrom pitching tonight might have also been a contributing factor.
