At the SeaDogs game tonight. Kehrt doesn't have much so far. Gave up a single, double and a homerun in the first, all on line drives.

And it's gotten worse:

Mike Antonellis ‏@seadogsradio
Kehrt has given up 3 homers for the second time in his career; last on 9/3/11 vs. New Hampshire at Hadlock Field.

Middlebrooks got drilled and the benches cleared.

Gordon Edes ‏@GordonEdes 16m
benches clear in Pawtucket after Middlebrooks hit by Esmil Rogers, same pitcher who broke Will's wrist in 2012. Hit in back Friday night

Brendan McGair ‏@BWMcGair03 18m
Too many close pitches by Buffalo's Esmil Rogers resulted in @PawSox DH Corey Brown going toward Rogers as he walked off the mound.

Mark Daniels ‏@MarkDanielsPJ 20m
Victorino was out there in the middle of it.

PawSox ‏@PawSox 19m
The benches and bullpens empty but no contact is made.

A very limited review of the game, as I spent much of the time watching my kids instead of the game. Gibson looked good, but has a very thin, wiry frame. He probably weighs 180 at most and will need to build his body some in the next couple of years. Swihart had a rough night at the plate, but was great defensively. Had several balls in the dirt and kept each in front of him. Really good pitch framing as well. Didn't get a chance to see his arm.

The guy who impressed me the most was Almanzar. He played first tonight(has he been doing that much this year?) and his defense shines there. Picked a couple of tough throws in the dirt, and made a nice snag on a sharp grounder right next to the bag. His swing is really smooth and produced 2 line drives. He also displayed some patience in the 8th working a walk. He's got good size as well. A switch to first base may be his best shot at making the major's with Napoli here for only 1 more year and not much depth behind him.

Glad we have Almanzar back. Feels like he has been a prospect since the Clinton administration but he is still only 23. Unfortunately not much room for him in AAA with Shaw and Cecchini on the corners.

His best position is DH.

Gibson really needs to be in AAA, why are Mike McCoy and Carlos Rivero stopping that from happening?

I really liked what I read about Danny Mars in the draft thread, and thought that him going in the 6th round seemed really low. He's tearing it up at Lowell, and I wonder if given Greenville's struggles they won't send him up there for a spark soon. I think they got a steal with that one.
