The Carolina League All-Star Game will be hosted by the Carolina MudCats in lovely Zebulon, North Carolina.

Salem will have five players representing the North squad at the game: DH Santiago Espinal, 1B Jerry Downs, C Roldani Baldwin, and Ps Daniel Gonzalez and Matthew Gorst.

The South Atlantic League All-Star Game will be hosted by the Greensboro Grasshoppers in lovely Greensboro, North Carolina.

Greenville will be sending six representatives from the organization to the game: Ps Kutter Crawford, Devon Fisher, and Denyi Reyes, and OF Victor Acosta will be the playing contingent with Manager Iggy Suarez managing the South squad with trainer Phil Millan joining him on the bench.

Brayan Aquino allowed two runs (one earned) on six walks and one hit over 2 1/3 innings; striking out one. Manuel Ramirez relinquished four runs on four hits – including a gopher ball to Yunior Garcia – a walk, a hit by pitch, and a wild pitch over 3 2/3 frames; whiffing a pair. Ronald Gutierrez gave up one run on two hits, two walks, and a wild pitch over 2 1/3 innings; striking out one. Luis Colmenares came in to get the final two outs without incident.

Jesus Maita managed two singles and two walks in five jaunts. Luis Mota laced two singles and earned a walk in five matchups. Denny Daza delivered a single in two at-bats before being replaced by Brandon Rincones who reached on two base on balls in three trips. Gamaliel Gomez golfed a single in two opportunities after replacing Jose Mejias who walked once in three junkets. Fabian Andrade flipped a single and earned a free pass in five forays. Jose Navas notched a double in five appearances. Carlos Sanchez secured a walk and was hit by a pitch in five sessions. Mike Shawaryn suffered a rough first inning, surrendering two runs on two singles, two walks, and a wild pitch. He then settled down with five scoreless frames, giving up two singles and a hit by pitch. Shawaryn suffered another meltdown in the seventh, recording one out (one a sacrifice bunt) while giving up a walk, two singles, and a homer by Austin Bossart. Overall, in 6 1/3 innings, Shawaryn allowed six runs and struck out four. Trevor Kelley got the final two outs, but not before yielding one run (and two inherited runners) on a pair of doubles.

Danny Mars mashed a single and a double in four matchups. Austin Rei reached twice on a single and a walk in three appearances. Tate Matheny and Chad De La Guerra each delivered a single in three trips. Deiner Lopez earned a free pass in three ventures. Victor Acosta came in as a defensive replacement in the fifth and completed the contest, accumulating a single in two ventures.

Salem stars silent in 7-6 North defeat in the Carolina League All-Star Game.

Daniel Gonzalez got the start for the North squad, giving up a lead-off homer to Joel Booker before getting the final three outs, one by way of the K. Matt Gorst followed Gonzalez and managed a scoreless second, yielding two singles.

Santiago Espinal started as the DH and ended as the SS (coming in for the final four defensive innings in a flip-flop with Carter Kieboom – because All-Star Games are different) and walked once in five excursions. Jerry Downs played the entire game at first base, being hit by a pitch once in four jaunts. Roldani Baldwin came in to the game in the bottom of the seventh and caught two scoreless innings from four different pitchers but popped out in his only at-bat.
