are there more 11:05AM games this year than in the past?

And do they really get school groups to all of these that are better crowds than if the games were at more traditional times?
I don't think so... But when you are three in one day it's easy to think otherwise.

As for the crowds... My guess is that there is an inconsequential difference. And it's good PR.

The other thing to think about with the 3 games today is that they are all getaway games with games tomorrow. And... Even Portland's primary mode of transport is the bus... So the earlier the start... The earlier teams can get on the road to the next destination.

(This can be especially true in the SALLY which is a ridiculously large area league)

Edit: Although today isn't a great example. Portland and Pawtucket stay at home, Hartford goes down the road to New Hampshire. Salem stays on the road but go further north to Delaware.

Scranton goes from Rhode Island to upstate New York. Frederick goes to down east North Carolina.

Justin Haley surrendered two runs on five hits and two walks over 4 2/3 frames; striking out five and unleashing a pair of wild pitches. Kyle Martin relinquished a run on four hits over 2 1/3 innings; whiffing five. Ty Buttrey walked one and struck out two in his two scoreless frames.

Jordan Betts blooped two singles in three jaunts. Ivan De Jesus delivered two singles in four at-bats. Rusney Castillo contributed a single and a walk in four appearances. Aneury Tavarez and Mike Ohlman each obtained a base on balls in four matchups. Dustin Pedroia was put out in all three trips before being replaced by Tzu-Wei Lin who was also unable to reach in his one up. Cole Sturgeon was unable to reach in his three sessions. Mike Olt and Sam Travis suffered four frustrating forays.

Portland dominates the Yard Goats, 12-3.

Teddy Stankiewicz surrendered two runs on five hits – including a Chris Rabago round tripper – and a hit by pitch over seven full; striking out seven. Trey Ball allowed one run on one hit and two walks in the eighth. Trevor Kelley walked one in the ninth.

Jeremy Rivera roped two singles and a double while drawing a walk in six jaunts. Isaias Lucena and Josh Ockimey each obtained two hits and two walks in five appearances; Ockimey with a double and a homer. Chad De La Guerra golfed two singles and took two free passes in six ups. Tate Matheny managed two singles in five at-bats. Jantzen Witte jacked a homer in the first and walked twice in five forays. Tony Renda and Luke Tendler each reached on a hit and a walk in five trips; Renda with a double. Nick Lovullo laced a double in five attempts.

Yard Goats starter Chris Jensen surrendered ten runs in 2+ innings for a fantastic -16 game score.

Portland was unlucky to score only 12, leaving 11 runners on the bases.

Brett Netzer notched a single and a double in four at-bats. C.J. Chatham and Tyler Hill each hit a single in four tries. Trenton Kemp earned a free pass in three treks. Chris Madera and Carlos Tovar were unsuccesful in three ups; Madera with a sombrero. Jordan Procyshen, Roldani Baldwin, and Jerry Downs each delivered four junky jaunts.
