NY goes back to the shittiest ballpark in baseball, with Severino today and Tanaka tomorrow both looking to rebound from their dreadful starts last weekend. Ramirez is a swing man who will probably only be able to go about 70 pitches max.

We get NY's B team tonight, including Rob Thomson managing because Girardi is at his daughter's HS graduation. Sanchez, Hicks and Headley sit:

    Gardner LF
    Ellsbury CF
    Holliday DH
    Castro 2B
    Judge RF
    Gregorius SS
    Carter 1B
    Romine C
    Torreyes 3B

The only good news is that, after this weekend, we have only one more series in the shithole and that's in the 2nd week of September.

Morrison double scores Longoria and it's 1-1, Severino's control is questionable atm

Singleton/Flaherty the dullest announcer duo ever?

I know you're not supposed to say this here, but I do dig a good bunt.

Dreamy double makes it 2-1, much to your annoyance ;-)

2 out, 2 strikes... this is when Severino is most dangerous

Severino promptly loads the bases (though he got squeezed on that last ball...)

I would have let Severino try to go another inning with no Chapman, but the bullpen besides Green is very rested.

Some terrible non-strike calls hurting Yankee pitchers tonight, Severino had an awful one on a 3-2 pitch to load the bases, but he got out of it.

Also Singleton said that Gardner's power streak started with that sick game-winning HR in Wrigley, which is totally correct if you ignore the two multi-HR games he had in the five games before that. If only there was a way to look up that kind of thing...

Two balls barely by infielders, come on Warren.

Yankee pitchers really getting screwed tonight, that 2-2 pitch should have ended the inning.

Thomson not pinch-hitting Sanchez here, wonder what Girardi would have done.

Such a winnable game, that 2-2 call killed them.

The tortoise Rays hit .500 again on their steady march back into relevance. They've played 5 more games than the Yankees so far, so will be well-rested come the playoff race.
