Dedgar Jimenez gave up three singles over five scoreless innings before falling a part in the sixth. An Austin Bossart bomb began the frame before Jimenez yielded three hits and a walk (while garnering only one out) before being replaced by Adam Lau. Lau gave up a walk and a Brandon Bednar homer which tied the game at before getting the third out of the sixth. Lau would only give up a walk over the next two innings pitched. Lau struck out three, Jimenez five. Jake Cosart came on for the ninth, giving out a two-run, two-out cuadrangular to Cord Sandberg (scoring the ghost runner) before getting the final out.

Tony Renda reached four times in five trips with three singles and a walk; stealing one base and being caught stealing once. Chad De La Guerra golfed a single, a double, and a grand slam in five at-bats. Nick Lovullo laced a single and walked thrice in five appearances. Tate Matheny and Josh Ockimey each had a hit and a walk in five matchups; Ockimey with a double. Jantzen Witte singled once and jacked a sacrifice fly in five jaunts. Jhon Nunez notched two walks, a sacrifice fly, and a sacrifice bunt in five excursions. Luke Tendler walked once and was hit once in five treks. Jeremy Rivera was unable to reach in six stinky sessions.

Kyle Hart yielded two runs on two walks, a single, and a Deivi Grullon bomb over five frames; striking out three and uncorking a wild pitch. Jordan Weems gave up a single and whiffed a pair in two innings of work. Daniel McGrath struck out a pair over two perfect innings.

Jantzen Witte was a triple shy of the cycle over five jaunts, adding a walk to his three hits. Austin Rei roped a double and a round tripper while taking a free pass in five appearances. Tate Matheny and Chad De La Guerra each singled twice in five matchups. Danny Mars mashed a single and walked once in four trips. Jeremy Rivera ripped a single and added a base on balls in five forays. Jhon Nunez and Nick Lovullo each laced a hit in five at-bats; Nunez with a triple. Tony Renda had a rare off day, going 0-for-5.

William Cuevas allowed four runs on a walk and six hits – including a Devon Travis downtown shot – over six innings, striking out four. Ty Buttrey walked one and struck out the side in the seventh. Fernando Rodriguez gave up a single and a walk in the eighth; whiffing one. Ryan Brasier walked the first batter he faced... and after a stolen base/throwing error placed the runner on third, a sacrifice fly brought in what proved to be the winning run. Brasier got the final two outs after the SF without incident.

Aneury Tavarez topped two singles in five at-bats. Ivan De Jesus had a single, a walk, and a hit by pitch in four appearances. Mike Olt obtained a double and a walk in four matchups. Mike Ohlman, Sam Travis, and Ramon Flores each flipped a hit in four sessions; Ohlman and Travis with homers. Rusney Castillo contributed a double in five tries. Tzu-Wei Lin took a walk in five attempts. Cole Sturgeon whiffed three times in four frustrating forays.

Salem postponed twice due to rain. Doubleheader tomorrow with another game made up the next time they head to the nation's capital.
