In the first Minor League Report of the season, I look at some of the storylines for the Red Sox minors this season. Beware, you could find yourself down a rabbit hole... a happy minor league rabbit hole, but a rabbit hole nonetheless.

I've been waiting pretty much the whole offseason for this day. I've considered a lot of prospects 'must-visit-milb-gamethread'-worthy over the years, but it's hard to come up with a pitcher matching this one for weekly anticipation.

Jealous that Espin is starting the season in middle A rather than Lowell where I'd be able to see him. Anyway, let's see if the organization lets him go more than 4 IP per outing this year!

First inning less fastball more off speed struck out the last guy at 94. Threw a ridiculous curveball for strike 2

Hit 98 twice...maybe more. Gun inconsistent. A lot more offspeed. 70 curve and some 80 change ups that broke ankles. This is not the kid I watched for one game last year

that Pawtucket game had 30 combined strikeouts in 8 1/2 innings. I wonder if the pitching was that good, the hitting that bad, or the zone that friendly.
