Paw Sox lose 3-1, total of 5 hits in the game. Lin and De Jesus Jr had the Pawsox hits, De Jesus Jr. knocking in Dan Butler. De Jesus also had an error that led to one of the Iron Pigs runs. Elias was the only Pawsox pitcher to go 3 innings and they were clean with 4 Ks.

Justin Haley pitched the first 2 2/3 innings, yielding a run on two hits and three walks while striking out three. Haley tossed an inefficient 73 pitches in his first start of the season. Kyle Martin followed, allowing two runs (one earned) on a hit, a walk, and a hit by pitch; whiffing one. Roenis Elias threw three scoreless innings, hitting a pair and striking out four. Robby Scott pitched a perfect eighth inning, whiffing a pair. Ryan Brasier threw just nine pitches to pick up three consecutive outs in the ninth.

Tzu-Wei Lin led the offense with a single and two walks in four plate appearances; Lin was caught stealing once however. Ivan De Jesus also scorched a single and drew a walk in four trips. Rusney Castillo, Sam Travis, and Ramon Flores each procured a walk amid three hitless at-bats; Castillo also stole a base. Dan Butler was hit by a pitch and had two hitless ventures. Chad De La Guerra was unable to reach in three excursions. Aneury Tavarez and Jeremy Barfield each struck out three times while going 0-for-4.

One big inning costs Portland, Sea Dogs lose 5-3.

Dedgar Jimenez picked up the loss by allowing four runs on four hits and two walks in 4 2/3 innings; striking out four. The fifth inning was his downfall, yielding three runs on two hits and a walk while only getting two outs. Daniel McGrath immediately gave up a run on a hit by pitch and a double before picking up the final out of the fifth. He went two more clean innings after that, allowing just a single while striking out four. Jake Cosart tossed a perfect eighth with a K.

Josh Tobias thumped a single, a home run, and a sacrifice fly in his four trips to the plate. Danny Mars managed a single and a double in four at-bats. Jesus Quiroz clubbed a homer and drew a walk in his four jaunts. Cole Sturgeon and Tate Matheny each strung a single in four appearances. Conrad Gregor and Austin Rei each reached once in four attempts; Gregor with a walk and Rei with a hit by pitch. Jeremy Rivera and Mike Olt each took the collar, going 0-for-4.

Salem and Greenville were both postponed due to inclement weather.

Salem will make up this game on April 8th with a doubleheader.

Greenville and West Virginia will attempt a doubleheader tomorrow.
