Two out rally in the top of the ninth put the Drive on top to stay, 4-2.

Boxscore

Kutter Crawford tossed four frames in his second professional outing (pitched one inning last season for Lowell), yielding a run on two hits and two walks while whiffing five. Denyi Reyes pitched the final five innings, allowing an unearned run on two hits while also striking out five.

Kervin Suarez's only ball in play was the game winner, as his ninth inning triple scored Samuel Miranda with the third run and Suarez came in to score the little league inside-the-parker on second baseman Rodolfo Castro's error. Suarez struck out his first four times to the plate. Miranda doubled with two outs in the ninth, his second hit of the game in his four trips. Michael Osinski struck two singles in three at-bats after replacing Victor Acosta who was hit by a pitch. Cole Brannen blasted a triple and a single while stealing a base in five appearances. Frankie Rios ripped a single and dropped a sacrifice bunt while striking out his other two times up; Rios also had a stolen base and a caught stealing. Everlouis Lozada laced a single, drew a walk, and also struck out twice. Lozada was also caught stealing. Jagger Rusconi singled once in four jaunts. Pedro Castellanos contributed a single in five at-bats. Marino Campana came to the plate four times, and went back to the dugout after each with a strikeout.

Salem scores three in the bottom of the ninth, walk-off with a 4-3 victory.

Boxscore

Jake Thompson tossed 5 2/3 frames in his first start of the year, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits (including a homer by Anibal Sierra) and two walks; whiffing four. Jared Oliver threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and striking out a pair. Joan Martinez allowed a hit, a wild pitch, and a walk in his two scoreless frames, striking out four and getting credit for the win.

Bobby Dalbec started the ninth inning rally with a solo bomb off of Brandon Bielak to put the second run on the board; Dalbec had also driven in the first run of the game with a first inning sac fly. Dalbec struck out in his other two at-bats and also contributed two throwing errors in the field. Jerry Downs ended the ninth with his second single in four jaunts, scoring Ryan Scott from third with the third run to tie the game. Tyler Hill started at first base but would come all the way around to score on center fielder Ronnie Dawson's throwing error. Scott's only hit in four trips was his ninth inning double. Hill's ninth inning single was his only hit in four appearances, but was also hit by a pitch earlier in the game. Santiago Espinal slapped a single and drew a walk in four excursions. Brett Netzer notched a single in four at-bats. Netzer was subsequently caught stealing. Kyri Washington was the only man to step up to the plate in the bottom of the ninth who failed to reach base; Washington went 0-for-3 with a walk. Nick Sciortino and Chris Madera each struck out in all three of their plate appearances.
