Here we are.

It's been nearly 3 years since we witnessed playoff hockey that mattered. Oh, we can say that playoff hockey is scintillating to watch year in and year out, even absent the Bruins... that it captivates viewers more so than any other sport's postseason, that legends are made in the playoffs and the level of play can't be exceeded. Many years, this is true - but the past two years, it's been a hollow consolation. Playoff hockey - finally - matters again.

Who stands in the Bruins' way this year? An early 90s expansion team boasting a rich history including Rick Bowness, Bryan Berard, Radek Bonk, and Speedracer Dany Heatley. Nobody has played more games for this storied franchise than Chris Phillips. Randy Cunneyworth is the second most tenured captain in the history of Canada's Other, Other Team. Craig Anderson's 151 career wins has him in poll position for the Kanata Walk of Fame.

The Ottawa Senators are a joke. Their fans are a joke. Their game 1 and game 2 ticket prices are an affront to playoff hockey in Canada. Their building - complete with 32" Vizio TVs as jumbotron monitors - is a joke. Dion Phaneuf is a joke.

Beat this joke of a franchise. T-minus 8 hours until the games matter again.

Let's freaking do this. It has been far too long.

Marchand - Bergeron - Backes
Stafford - Krejci - Pastrnak
Schaller - Moore - Nash
Vatrano - Spooner - Beleskey

Chara - McQuaid
K. Miller - McAvoy
Liles - C. Miller

Rask

I'm not sure if those D pairs are what we'll end up seeing tonight. Charlie's been here for 3 days and has had 3 different partners, so they seem to be juggling things at this point.

Edit: Fluto now says they went back to McAvoy with Chara, Liles with McQuaid and then the Miller's. He thinks that's how they start.

During the next lockout, a clause should be added to the CBA banning any team that employs Alexandre Burrows from having success. Let tonight be the start of the pilot program.

In addition to a rooting cheer, that phrase can also double as Burrows STD history.

I agree but the players shouldn't bite off any more than they can chew

Are we protecting the Civic? Or is that so 2011?
I was trying to start up a Protect the Fiat thing since TFP will be in Italy, but it got no traction. Just like a Fiat!

Just letting everyone know that I've had more bottles of wine than hours of sleep in the last 30 hours. I'd love to watch to this game live but don't think it's in the cards. I hope I can watch my DVR recording tomorrow AM.

Can't believe Bruins are playing a college sophomore. Let's go Comm. Ave Charlie, get it done.

Bruins played to a 112 point pace since coaching change. Punish the Sens.

Nice to see paperhead Clarke MacArthur getting in with a crosscheck to Beleskey's back after the whistle
