+/- stats are taking a beating with these "full strength" goals coming as the Bruin is leaving the box.

There was shady shit from square one in this game, not to absolve tonight’s brutal defense of blame.

306, row 14
They’re paying with 4 new players and a jumbled lineup due to injuries to 2 of their top 4 players. Hence, sloppiness.

Honestly getting the NBC B squad should have been a harbinger of doom.
Detroit has approached this like a playoff game from the minute they went down 0-2. Refs helping them at every turn and Bruins sloppy in their own zone and surprised at the Wings' impertinence. Most definitely—whoever said it—a "sneaky dirty team."

A hat trick on hat giveaway night is pretty awesome.

I called that before OT on two separate text chains, everyone tell me how awesome I am!

It sure helped that all three Wings went for a skate — two glided by the net and the other was turning up ice.

Late to the party after watching on dvd but Marchand has become such an incredible player in the last 3 years. The pest aspect was always there, he has been on the top forward PK pairing for years with Bergy, and has become so good on offense. The sneakiness to bounce it off Howard, the patience to wait him out in OT. Just such a great player.

Edit to add: Last year Marchand was tied for 5th in points in league, 12th in the Selke voting, and 7th in MVP voting. When he's in the lineup he's been as good or better this year.

I'm an off and on hockey watcher - and hadn't paid much attention at all the past 2-3 seasons. But I've been watching quite a bit the last 3 weeks or so and the one thing that has struck me the most is how much better Marchand is now than when I was last tuned in to hockey. He really has turned into a terrific player.
