See? Playing longer than 60 minutes and winning can be fun too! Losing sucks. Let's not do that anymore.
It's even more insane when you see them in person and realize how fast they're actually moving.I'll be honest. I just had my first hockey lesson in full pads on Sunday.... I'm 38 and January was the first time I've skated since high school.... I'm so excited for the next 23 weeks of lessons, but man am I jealous of how easy these guys make skating look.
Oh, I know. Hockey is easily the best live experience in sports out there, in my opinion. Just watching NHL players in warmups is simply mind blowing. It's even more insane when you see them in person and realize how fast they're actually moving.
I think that is the thing that amazes me about the difference in levels. Even most college players are slow compared to the NHL skaters. Between that and the precision passing, it's really interesting to see a college game and a pro game in a short span. It's even more insane when you see them in person and realize how fast they're actually moving.
I don't even think it's just the college level. The difference between the AHL and the NHL is like night and day. It doesn't surprise me at all that a lot of guys (especially goalies) struggle with the transition their first time up. It's not a completely different sport, but it's not that far off.I think that is the thing that amazes me about the difference in levels.
