See, that was much better.
Today the offense gets going and we get good Porcello.
Hopefully Kevin Cash's "Bullpen Day" has the same results as the Sox' ill-fated "bullpen-by-committee" experiment a few seasons ago.
Closer by committee. Bullpens pretty much are a committee.
In the things you thought would never bother you department, Matt Barnes is not available today.
Hembree and Poyner and who else? I have concert tix so will miss most of this.
Win the series, please.
P.S., strange things are happening, like the depleted Marlins beating the stacked Cubs in the17th inning. Offense seems down for many teams.
I'm heading back to the Trop again for another W!
Even shitty teams win 60 games and even great teams lose 60 games.
Four game series so can’t win it today.
Kelly, Smith, Velazquez, etc. The whole bullpen should be available except Barnes.
Meanwhile, J.D. is on pace for zero hits and 234 strike outs. But also, 162 walks, which would be amazing.
Winning is much more fun than losing. Lets keep winning.
I’ll be disappointed if we don’t put up at least 6-7 runs today.
No Devers or JBJ to start. JBJ I get, Devers not so much
So 7 runs we assume you're good, 5 we assume you're disappointed, and 6 we just have to play it by ear? You can't just commit to one cutoff point?
Expecting, or at least hoping for, lots of GBs with Porcello pitching, they likely believe, or again maybe just hope, Nunez at 3B and Holt at 2B improves the IF defense at both.
If Porcello can keep the ball on the ground, it would also hide the considerable defensive downgrade from a Betts-Bradley-Benintendi OF to a Betts-Benintendi-Martinez OF.
Hopefully we see the 2016 version of Porcello.
Would have liked to see Nunez sit over Devers.
I smell some homers
I'd settle for a whole bunch of runs no matter how they are scored.
Why is Devers sitting?
Because he's still an adventure at third, Nunez cant move around as well as Holt, and Cora wants to experiment with the fielders?
Because no one is playing 162 games.
I had irrational levels of hatred for Brockholt last year. My New Years resolution is to suffer him gladly. He could help by not hitting.150.
Not the sexy lineup from last night, but they didn't score much anyway. This lineup can work.
Hoping for the CY Young version of the Ricker tonight.
Win again! Calling a homer from someone in the 3–4-5 stretch.
It's been 174 days since a Red Sox player hit a ball over the fence in a game that mattered. The last 2 'home runs' were inside the parkers. Benintendi hit the last real dinger.
Today they are the devil rays.
Does any generous kind-hearted soul have a link to a stream perhaps?
This is the first game I’ll be able to watch from first pitch. I haven’t even seen J.D. bat yet (probably a good thing, I guess). Needless to say, I’m happy.
Let's Go EYRP! (Even Year Rick Porcello.)
Aaaaand, 43 fans in the house for this one!!
"Devil Rays," eh?
Time for a brawl.
10D with the low socks tonight.
I miss Benny's hair
So, why are the Rays emptying their bullpen rather than just... calling someone up? I would understand if they had an off day tomorrow, but it seems unnecessary, right?
Jesus, Andrew has a huge ass now.
I think they are actually going to have a bullpen game once through the rotation - or so they say - all year.
I foresee a lot of that this year...
Two great pitches to start. Fuck the ump.
I foresee a lot of that next year...
26 to go for the no-hitter!
Where do you live? (So I know where to send the posse.)
Porcello is like "11 pitches per inning Price? Fuck that, amateur"
