I went to ESPN's (I know, I know) NHL page to do a little scouting on the San Jose Sharks in advance of tomorrow night's game and what did I see? A graybearded Joe Thornton! Man, it's hard to believe that he was drafted nineteen years ago -- makes me feel so old!

Let's take two (in regulation, for the SJ draft pick's sake)!

Krejci was the only practice absentee yesterday, but there has to be another injury or sickness somewhere amongst the forwards or else they couldn't sneak Vatrano up on emergency recall. You have to have less than 12 healthy forwards available to do that, and they're still carrying Randell. Of course "the flu is going around" is a convenient and easy excuse to use to get an extra player up, so that could be the case and they're using it as a way to get an extra player with them out west without burning one of their 3 remaining call ups.

If I had to guess, Krejci plays and someone else sits for Frank. If Krejci was in danger of missing a game, they would've called up a center not Frank.

That makes sense to me, too. I should have linked, but the article that mentioned Vatrano was here. Also on the Herald, which likely means it is false anyway.

As for the game, I hate that this road trip is happening now. The team has been playing really well, and I can't shake the feeling that these west coast trips so often go poorly then lead to a week long funk, and that would be really bad right now. I hope I am wrong, and the Ferm Sheller run can continue at pace.

That was a Dick Bavetta-esque "look at me I'm in charge!" call.

How many extra minors would the Bruins have picked up if it happened the other way?

right here
2 minutes because I blew the call and you made me look bad by continuing to try to play a loose puck.

Couture hauling down Krejci was more of a hook than the one they called on Hayes.

B's chasing this period. A result of the carryover PP, haven't gotten their footing at even strength.

I don't see any way on earth that Ward was onside there. Nothing came of it but man that was a headshaker.

I approve of the new 4th line. Claude hands them a D Zone start and they respond by creating a scoring chance.
