Nothing gets me more aggravated then when they pull up a foot inside the blue line on the PP and attempt to set up shop there. Nothing good ever comes of that. Zero room to work.

Ovechkin is such a lazy bum, he doesn't move around. Just put someone on the top of the left circle on the PP shadowing him and you're all set.

That was big.

Also nice of Troy Brouwer who could have absolutely laid him out after the shot but didn't. Respectful.

Curious why Kelly skating to the bench was an interference but running Tuukka wasn't as well,
Oh well

The Dirty Shire
Can't decide to show up 30 minutes into the game. Frustrating effort, and tough to witness live. The Krejci line was completely disinterested, but thankfully Bergy showed up.

Let's just forget this whole game happened.

You should forward this idea to some NHL coaches. This is the strategy Tampa used against the Caps when Ovechkin scored four against them. Two of those were on the powerplay and one on a 6-on-5, all with him on the left side in his usual spot with a shadow. One of those PPGs was a great backdoor cut to the net by Ovechkin, who is very adept at reading whether he has enough space to sit tight, conserve energy, and still score with his wicked one timer, or if needs to charge the net. Overplaying Ovechkin is also the reason Brouwer (8 PPG) and Ward (5 PPG) are 2nd and 4th respectively in PPGs on the Caps, as both guys shuffle through the middle slot in the 1-3-1 and get extra space with the shadow overplaying to the side.
