Is anyone surprised the Bungles have come up small? The only way to keep KC from scoring right now is to score and Dalton sucks when the bright lights are shining.

This Mahomes commentary has gotten pornographic.
The thing is that the guy ticks all the boxes in terms of a star for the league. First season *starting*, breaking all kinds of records, clearly electric, plays for a franchise with some tradition and a strong fanbase that isn't on the coast. As far as young stars, its him, Goff and Gurley right now on the offensive side of things.

Oh for sure. I love Mahomes. He's amazing. They should sprinkle in a bit more Bengals suck chatter for the haters to keep things fair and balanced.

I can show you a lot of plays in slo-mo that look like late hits.
Wait, are you talking about the push on Mahomes out of bounds, or the late hit (not to mention leading with his helmet and spearing a guy on the ground)? If anything, I thought the push was less egregious, but a QB is always going to get that call. You simply cannot do a triple gainer head first dive onto a guy laying on the ground anymore, that was pretty darn clear.

Is there any way the Super Bowl isn't Rams or Saints vs Pats or Chiefs?
If Cousins plays well, I wouldn't count out the Vikings going on a run in the playoffs. That defense is still really good, but otherwise, yeah. Not sure anyone else has a chance. Steelers could always have a game or two where they simply outscore their opponent, but we've all seen how that movie usually ends.

Where it rains. No, seriously.

I’m curious how you are so definitive having seen one video real-time and multiple in slo-mo when the back is fighting for yardage. I’m also not interested in arguing and happy to admit I’m wrong. It’s just my impression.

For the record, the push was much less egregious and I wouldn’t have flagged it.

Really feels like NE may have to win out to host the AFCC, which is insane. The rest of the Chiefs schedule other than the neutral-site Rams game is so soft. They could be touchdown favorites in every game but the Rams game.

Ravens have an outside shot, too.

Funny, I’ve never once heard the running up the score BS since the Pats in 2007.

I thought it was a late hit in real time when I saw it. I was certain the flag was coming out. The replay only solidified it for me when I saw him lead with his helmet and spear the guy. Not sure how many times I'd need to see that. Like I said, I thought the flag for the push on Mahomes was a bit ticky tack, but unsurprising in today's NFL. The second one, that gets called every time.

Do the heads take it too far too fast, especially CC? Of course.

Are there people in BBTL butthurt because they predicted the Chiefs would take the proverbial “step back” with the departure of Alex Smith? Yup.

Nobody knows the QB business as well as Andy Reid. Who to get, how to nurture them, when to get rid of them.

Bill Belichick rarely takes out his QB in a blow out. Marv Lewis takes out his under achieving QB when they're getting blown out.

Jeff Driskel hasn’t played baseball since high school, I doubt that door is still open for him.

I can't believe I'm staying up to see if a cover score happens. The long rumored demise of the NFL is extremely exaggerated
Not for gambling (well, depending on how you define fantasy) but I agree about the demise of the NFL being exaggerated. Warts and all, I still watch and even lopsided games provide some entertainment. Death was right in his post in P&G - the NFL is hard to quit.

This KC team looks like a 14-2 squad. #1 seed is still possible but I find it pretty unlikely, even with tiebreaker. Pats are in pretty good position for the 2 seed though. Like that we have both GB and MN at home.

I'll be curious to see how Mahomes and this KC offense responds once the weather turns lousy. We've seen these fast starts before, but playing in 60 degree weather is a far different animal than when it's 20 or 30, and there's precipitation falling in one form or another. 4 of their last 6 games are at home, where the weather could play a big factor, and they are playing the Rams, Ravens, Chargers and Raiders in that order, with the first game being on November 11th. One of their two road games during that stretch is in Seattle on December 23rd.

That's no cakewalk, and we'll see if Mahomes, who grew up in warm weather, played college football in the south, is as good when Mother Nature is acting up. This is what has separated Brady and Rodgers from everyone else come November and December, IMO, for a decade plus now.

Huh?, he moves the ball a considerable distance and the defense comes across. It doesn't get any more textbook than that. That's a clearly correct call.
I'm with you. I don't know anything about his career or what he's been doing - but that shouldn't really matter. He gets the ball set. Freezes. Then moves it a considerable amount and freezes, again. If the defense jumps while he's screwing around. Oh well. 5-yard penalty. Learn how to hike the ball correctly.

They still play Rams, Chargers, Ravens, plus the Chiefs always seem to have a "WTF" loss every year.

Agree though until it happens you never know – who would’ve guessed two California players like Brady and Rodgers would thrive in the weather of Foxboro and Green Bay?

(Edit: and yes, I know Brady went to Michigan)

Also, Brett Favre was from Mississippi and went to a college in a warm climate.

Let's not get crazy. If Brady had a passer rating in a single game that was lower than Favre's second best season, people around here would say Brady is all done. LOL

I hate that crap. If he’s squatting 650 for 10-12 reps his 1RM is like 800 and he’d be a powerlifting champion while training for football full time and being drug tested. Lol. Ok.

Solder is Ellsbury. Was like a league average center fielder / left tackle. Left for bigger $ in NY. Benched by mid contract.
